Tuesday, June 9th The Tahtsa Group had the honor of hosting Lake Babine Nation Chief and Council, Land Guardians, and special guests at our Raspberry-Babine Camp in North Babine.
During the visit, The Tahtsa Team held an official Land Acknowledgement ceremony, affixing a permanent placard at the entrance of the facility so all who access camp know that we are guests on Lake Babine Nation Territory.
We are grateful that Chief and Council, Guardians and so many were able to be present and not only witness the event but also share blessings, stories, language, and a wonderful meal together.
"With respect and gratitude, the Tahtsa Group acknowledges the traditional and unceded territory of Lake Babine Nation where we have the opportunity to create a “home on the territory” for Guardians, land users, and respectful resource development.
The Tahtsa Group is committed to honoring Yintah and we ask all who enter our camp to do the same by conducting themselves in a manner that respects the balance between land, water, and all living things."
Special thanks to CnC Executive, Petra Bayes and Councilor Debbie West for sharing some of their photos of the event.
