A BIG THANK YOU to Eddie & Christine at Marigold Resort for their generous load of bottles and cans this past week. Every single one counts in the 10 cents at a time program that supports the Loon Lake Fire Department.

Once again to Faye, Chris and all their helpers, without you this program wouldn’t be what it is. The Fire Department thanks you all so much for your dedication and hard work.

Hello,

The Cariboo Fire Centre is responding to the Chasm Creek Wildfire (C40298) located approximately 16 kilometres northwest of Loon Lake and approximately seven kilometres east of Highway 97. The fire is suspected to be lightning caused and is currently estimated to be 10 hectares in size. BC Wildfire Service crews are onsite. Air tankers have dropped retardant and helicopters are supporting response operations.

The wildfire is highly visible to surrounding communities and to motorists on Highway 97. The wildfire is not currently threatening any infrastructure and travel on Highway 97 is not impacted.
