There is a misconception about that a beautiful wedding begins with flowers, linen and a perfectly curated colour palette.
After more than two decades of designing weddings, I can tell you that the ones that feel the most beautiful usually begin somewhere else entirely.
With the space.
How your guests move through it. Where will their eye naturally land? Does the ceremony design make sense for the space? Can those flowers be thoughtfully repurposed? Are the tables too crowded? Is there enough candlelight? Does the scale of the design actually suit the venue?
These aren’t decisions reserved for weddings with enormous budgets. In fact, good design becomes even more important when every dollar needs to work thoughtfully.
Because designing a wedding isn’t about adding more.
It’s knowing where to create impact, where to show restraint, and how to bring all those individual decisions together so that the celebration feels effortless, personal and beautifully considered.
Most of our work never shows up in photographs.
But you and your guests will definitely feel it!
After all these years, that’s still one of my favourite parts of what we do at Sue Gallo Designs.
