Lara Harries brings 24 plus years of experience working in Canada in healthcare recruitment, attraction and retention initiatives to integrate newcomers into their communities. Lara immigrated to Canada from South Africa 30+ years ago and made Canada her home. Her work experience includes working for herself as an independent Physician recruiter for 15 years, recruiting physicians and their famili
es to Canada. Lara also worked for one of the biggest health care organizations in Canada, recruiting physicians. Working as a recruiter has given her a vast amount of knowledge of processes such as credential verification and licensing requirements and processes to be regulated in Canada. During her first 20 years of living in Canada Lara lived in rural areas, from Newfoundland to Manitoba and then to Alberta where she currently resides for the past 20+ years. Even though she lives in Calgary now, she has a heart for rural and integration of newcomers into rural communities. Immigrating is only the first step to come to Canada, but most importantly Integrating into a community and workplace where diversity, inclusion and belonging is key, so Lara has made that an integral part of her practice today. She is knowledgeable and resourceful and leverage her strengths with good communication and collaboration skills to ensure optimal outcome with everyone she works with.
