If I have learned anything over the last 25+ years, it is that despite best efforts, things don’t always go smoothly. S$ #% happens sometimes.

And people will not remember the screw up, but they will remember what happens after. Did you point fingers? Negate responsibility? How did you make up for the mistake? Do you learn from it?

It might seem like a strange thing to have as a company value, but trust can be built when you know the team is there to support one another. When people focus ‘controlling the controllables’ and pragmatically getting things done, it is easier to weather the storm and get back to sunny skies.

It's time to identify and get laser-focused on your ideal client - the one whose problem you can solve and who wants the help.

Resist the urge to serve up vanilla ice cream🍦 that is palatable to everyone when you can be the mint chocolate chip that some people crave.

As the 80/20 rule suggests, 20% of your clients will ultimately bring in 80% of your revenue. What do those 20% have in common? Identify those commonalities and speak directly to those potential customers. By doing so, you'll attract the right clients and ultimately grow your business.

You are a unique flavour. Don't try and be everything to everyone. Find and focus on the mint chocolate chip lovers and watch your business flourish.
