Our team just got back from the Health Connect Partners Reverse Expo for Post-Acute Care in Louisville, KY โ and we're still thinking about Ryan Jenkins' keynote.
Ryan, bestselling author of Connectable: How to Move Multi-Generational Teams from Isolated to All In, broke down what today's long-term care workforce really looks like โ four, sometimes five generations working side by side, from CNAs to Directors of Care, each with their own motivators and ways of connecting.
A few numbers that stopped us in our tracks:
๐ Just 5% of Gen Z report dissatisfaction working alongside Millennials
๐ That jumps to 47% when working with Baby Boomers
๐ Post-acute care demand is projected to roughly double over the next 10 years
The bigger that generational distance gets, the harder team cohesion becomes โ and as tech accelerates, the gap is only widening.
His message? As AI and tech reshape healthcare, the real differentiator isn't the technology โ it's the human connection. Bedside presence. One-on-one time. Real communication across the multi-generational care team.
And honestly? That's exactly why we built VitalLink.
VitalLink isn't here to replace the human side of care โ it's here to protect it. By automating vitals capture, documentation, and EHR sync right at the point of care, VitalLink gives caregivers back the time they'd otherwise lose to paperwork. Time they can spend with their residents. Time they can spend connecting with each other across generations and roles.
The future of post-acute care isn't tech vs. human connection. It's tech that makes more human connection possible. ๐
Huge thanks to HCP and Ryan Jenkins for a conversation we won't forget.
