Starting in grade 6, Joshua refused to be brought to our hairdresser for his regular haircut. I had no choice but to quickly learn how to cut his hair myself! So, for more than 15 years, I’ve been his personal “hairdresser”. During that period, I had to be creative in coming up with a valid reason for cutting his hair. Only then would he allow me to cut it. I also learned the hard way not to cut it too short. He threw a fit when I did that and it took him quite long to forgive me. To express his disappointment, he told me “I hate mothers!”
Through the years, whenever I have an appointment for a haircut, Joshua would be the first one to see the calendar reminder pop up on his computer and would always tell me of my upcoming appointment. In recent months, he got curious and started asking me about the name of my hairdresser. One particular day, he asked if he could have his bangs cut by her. I immediately phoned Carmona of JC Rozz Hair Studio and made arrangements for me to bring him in within that week. But on the day we were supposed to go, he changed his mind just as we were about to leave the house. Not wanting to make a last minute cancellation, guess who ended up having a haircut on that day? Yup, it was poor me! 😳
Last Saturday evening, Joshua suddenly floated the idea of having his bangs cut and asked my help to search for a sample of it online. Once he found the “perfect” image of the cut, I suggested that he should have Carmona do it instead of me and that for him to look better, the rest of his hair should be cut too. He took the bait and agreed. This time, I wasted no time and brought him the very next day to the hair studio 😁🤣
You look fabulous, Joshua ❤️
