Tomorrow is World Homeless Day, and behind the scenes, the NanoTess team has been working alongside our incredible healthcare partners to bring a very special project to life 🎞️🎥

Wounds Unhoused is a collaborative short film shining a light on the growing crisis of wounds among unhoused and vulnerable communities, told through the voices of the healthcare teams who care for them 🫶🏽

Filmed throughout 2026, this powerful film aims to raise awareness of the prevalence and severity of wounds among people living on the streets, the dangers of leaving wounds untreated in austere conditions, and the innovative approaches healthcare workers are embracing to bring care to those who need it most 🩵

Compassionate care and community action is at the heart of everything we do here at NanoTess - and it’s the reason we established our community healing campaign, Heal One Heal Another 🩵

Recently our team volunteered at the Calgary Pop Up Care Village Calgary Pop-Up Care Village, an event for those experiencing systemic vulnerabilities such as homelessness, addiction, mental health, poverty, language and cultural barriers 🫶🏾

This unique annual event provided equitable access to basic services and supports that so many of us take for granted such as healthcare, clothing, haircuts, food, dental care, and optometry - all in the setting of Central Memorial Park 🌳

We know that vulnerable populations are at a higher risk of developing wounds, and that access to care can be a huge barrier. Meeting people where they’re at, without agenda or judgement, helps to bridge the care gap and enable better outcomes for long-term health and wellness 🩹

Earlier this month, we sponsored three adaptive athletes to take part in the Fernie Gravel Grind - an epic race where adaptive and non-adaptive riders tackle up to 86km of Fernie’s finest gravel roads 🛣️

Athletes with spinal cord injuries deal with wounds on a regular basis - from pressure injuries to cuts and abrasions sustained through sport - and they can escalate quickly or stall and become chronic 🏥

As adaptive mountain biker Dylan Willick discovered, NanoSALV Catalytic works to get healing on track from the beginning - or to get the process moving again🚦

We caught up with of the Canadian Pro Rodeo Sport Med Team to talk about life behind the chutes, treating injuries at the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth 🎡 The Calgary Stampede

According to the Government of Canada, the total population experiencing homelessness has nearly doubled since 2020 - with 27% of our unhoused population currently living in outdoor encampments ⛺

Which is one of the reasons why innovation in community-based wound care is more critical now than ever 🔬

Community Paramedics, like Ken Boniface, have been using NanoSALV Catalytic since 2024 - supporting thousands of individuals in austere environments with wound care that is practical, dignified, compassionate and, most importantly, effective 🚑
