Hold on to your butts. We’re going to Alberta’s dinosaur badlands. 🦕🤠

Welcome to … Drumheller! The dinosaurs here aren’t Jurassic (they’re late Cretaceous), but they're just as epic, and thankfully, only fossils now.

🪏 Dig into some history at the Royal Tyrrell Museum and take a photo with Tyra, the World’s Largest Dinosaur, before she retires in 2029.

🎸 Then, enjoy a show at The Badlands Amphitheatre or go for a walk among the otherworldly hoodoos.

Just be sure to take all your beverage containers with you when you leave and return them to a bottle depot.

After all, T. rexes can’t pick up litter with their little arms. 🦖

Learn the truth about the beverage cap myth in today’s edition of “Recycling: Fact or Fiction.” 🤔💭⁉️

Myth: You have to remove the plastic caps from beverage containers before you can return them to a bottle depot. Verdict: FICTION! ❌

Caps should be left ON and returned with their beverage containers. ✅

Our goal is to eliminate waste by recycling as much material as we can. In order to do that, we need beverage containers to be returned with all their parts included.

Ensure that the caps are on tight so they don’t fall off and become waste, then bring your empties into your nearest depot! 👏 ♻️

Beverage cap myth: busted. 💥👊

It’s our party, and we’ll cry if we want to. 😭

Our guests at our backyard BBQ are leaving their empty beverage containers ALL over the yard!

Here’s what we should’ve done…

Set up a recycling station so guests can easily pop empty beverage containers into the right spot. 🚮

It makes the bottle depot run after the party a lot easier, and you’ll get a refund on all those non-refillable beverage containers! That’s a big perk of hosting, after all. 😉

🎨 Plus, you can get creative with your station to make sure your guests know exactly where to put their empties.

The days of being a party pooper are officially over. 🥳

Unbothered. Boxed. Happy. In my lane. Focused. Flourishing. 🍷

Sometimes self-care is kicking back on a Friday night and having a glass of bag-in-box wine.

💅 And self-care is always returning bag-in-box beverage containers to your nearest depot for a refund.

♻️ Just be sure to keep the bladder inside the box together when you bring it in. You’ll help care for the environment and get back that deposit you paid at the time of purchase.

Now back to relaxing. 😌

Today, we’re busting the can crushing myth in our first instalment of “Recycling: Fact or Fiction.” 🤔💭⁉️

Myth: When recycling, you should never crush cans. Verdict: FICTION! ❌

There’s a correct way to crush your empty drink cans for the bottle depot. ✅

Crushing your cans on their sides ensures that identifying marks, like labels and barcodes, are still visible. This means your purchase can be verified, so you can get a refund.

Crushing cans may help save space, so you can fit even more beverage containers into your bag or box and return more in a single trip. Sounds like a win-win to us!

Just remember: there is a right and wrong way to crush your cans. NEVER crush from the top down, ALWAYS crush from the sides in.

What are you waiting for? Bring ‘em in and get it back! 👏 ♻️

Can crushing myth: busted. 💥👊

Banff really did wake up like this. 💅

When it comes to national parks with the “it factor,” Banff comes with a mountain of evidence.

🤩 From the Rocky Mountains to the Columbia Icefield to the Bow River, Banff has more photo-worthy looks than celebrities on the red carpet.

✨ And Banff isn’t just a pretty face. There is plenty of personality there, among all the hiking, canoeing, horseback riding, and more on offer.

Let’s all help keep Banff the icon that it is. Take only pictures, leave only footprints, and bring your empty beverage containers to a bottle depot after your visit.

According to a wise proverb, “The perfect long weekend is not measured in minutes but in empty beverage containers racked up in your car.” 🤘

As you rocked this long weekend, what empty beverage containers are rolling around in your car right now?

⚡Is there a canned energy drink from a long drive?
💧A plastic water bottle (or two) from a hike?
🫧 Or, maybe a glass pop bottle from a picnic?

Let us know in the comments 👇 And be sure to bring ‘em into a bottle depot!

What’s a gable top? You probably know it by its pointy roof. Gable top beverage cartons are part of the deposit system, so bring them back for recycling and get your deposit refund.

Camping for the Victoria Day weekend? Let’s do a quick check-in! 🏕️

How is your campsite looking? Pristine and green? Or are things looking a bit…messy?

A quick, two-minute campsite cleanup should solve the problem! It’ll make packing up and heading home a lot easier, all while ensuring your time in the great outdoors leaves no trace behind.

And don’t forget to collect all those empty non-refillable beverage containers. That way, you can return them to the depot for a refund when you’re back in town!

Thanks for keeping things tidy so we can all enjoy Alberta’s postcard-worthy scenery. 📸

Have a great long weekend!
