MAJOR UPDATE CAME INTO EFFECT ON MARCH 18, 2024 FOR THE ALBERTA ADVANTAGE IMMIGRATION PROGRAM:
From March 18, 2024, onwards, there has been a change in the employer requirements for who will be supporting a candidate for Alberta PNP programs:
- the business must be in Alberta
- the business must be in continuous and active operations in
Alberta for a minimum of 2 complete fiscal years prior to
application submission
- the business must have a place of doing business in Alberta where employees can report to work
- If the candidate to be nominated is not living and working in Alberta, recruitment efforts must be shown
- there is a cap on the number of nominations an employer can do if the business cannot show: (i)total gross revenue of CAD 4,00,000 for the most recent fiscal year and (ii) number of 3 full-time employees
Employers will also need to submit certain documentation to AAIP to support a candidate's PNP application such as:
- Schedule 100, 125, and 141 of the last 2 years
- T4 Summary of remuneration paid
- Employer declaration form
- Signed AUT-01 form which will Authorize a representative of
Alberta PNP officer to offline access to verify employer's business
documents
- Business License (if applicable)
- Lease, rental, mortgage, or ownership documents of the workplace.
