Start To Finish: Boom Pendant Cable

Ever wonder how a boom pendant cable is made? Well, join us in the process of making one from start to finish. When people think about rigging, rarely do they think of something as meticulous as separating each strand of a wire to securely attach an open spelter socket. But this process helps increase the surface area for the adhesive to attach to. And when making any kind of rigging, strength is key, so taking that step to make a stronger product is always a privilege.

Time Lapse of a Hand Spliced Load Sling

Did anyone say time lapse? Today, Nico is showing off his skills while making these wire rope slings with a hand tucked burn off eye. A job like this is incredibly demanding, which is why we love showing you the process. Getting a glimpse of the time and effort that goes into equipment like this is so vital in understanding its value and strength. A machine can never match strength that is built through the hand of a worker, and we are so proud of the effort of our associates.

Watch us break test whip checks! Break testing is a key component of making sure your rigging is safe. This is our second attempt at breaking our whip checks. In the first attempt, the strength of our rigging bent our custom pipe fitting. This time we designed a more durable pipe stand-in to help us get accurate numbers. Let us know what you think!

Break Testing: Whip Checks

Watch us break test whip checks! Break testing is a key component of making sure your rigging is safe. By bringing a piece of rigging to its maximum limit, we can be confident it can handle the load it is designed for. I think synthetic rope is one of my favourite things to break test in our hydraulic test bed. Not matter what, you know you are going to get a cool looking effect!

Check Out Us Splicing An Eye For 1-1/4" Wire Rope Lifting Sling

I cannot overstate how much strength bending these wires takes, but it isn’t just strength, it is technique. When you are splicing with a wire that is this big, you have to know exactly how and where to place that wire. It you don’t you will have an 1-1/4” wire rope whipping back at you, or even worse, a lifting eye that can’t handle loads. That is why we have experts like Vitalli, who can knock out on of these in no time, and makes a sling strong enough to handle the toughest jobs.

Thank you Vitallii for letting us join you!
