After Squeeky passed, I found myself forming a very special little friendship with a magpie I named Beaky.

Half of her beak was missing, which made it difficult for her to eat. So when I started leaving fresh water and peanuts out for the birds in my yard, Beaky got her own special spot.

I’d open the peanuts for her and break them into little bite-sized pieces so she could eat them more easily.
And she always knew exactly where her spot was.🥹

She would visit me throughout the day, often sitting in the tree in my backyard. She even spent time hanging out with Holly. This was her safe spot. 🥹

She became part of my little family. But I haven’t seen her for the past week or so, and deep down, I think I already knew she passed. She had been looking rough during her last few visits. 😢

This morning I put out the peanuts and called my birds like I always do. I still set a spot for her.

Usually, Beaky was one of the first to arrive.
But today, the others came instead.

I looked at them and asked, “Where’s Beaky?”
And something about that moment broke me.

I started crying because my heart already knew the answer. She’s gone physically. 🕊️

I watched and talked to them for a while, and eventually I asked for a sign.
Just something to help me say goodbye...

And then Flappy showed up!!😭❤️

Flappy has a right wing that hangs lower and struggles to fly properly. And somehow, he managed to hop up to Beaky’s special spot and eat the peanuts I’d left there for her. 😭

Maybe you believe it was coincidence.
Maybe it was simply a hungry bird.
But in that moment, it felt like my answer.❤️🙏🥹

Very well put 🙏

Ladies, take the shot!🎱

Not because you know exactly how it’s going to turn out.

Not because you’re completely ready.
Not because you have every detail figured out.

Take it because you want to see what’s possible.

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how often we talk ourselves out of things before we’ve even given ourselves a chance.

We wait until we’re more confident.
More prepared.
More successful.
More healed.
More certain.

But sometimes the confidence comes after you take the shot. 😲🤯

You learn by trying.
You grow by stretching yourself.
You discover what you’re capable of by actually giving yourself the opportunity to find out.

And if you miss?

You learn from it.
Adjust your aim.
Take another shot.

Your life doesn’t have to be perfectly planned before you start creating it.

Take the shot.

Apply for the thing.
Start the business.
Send the message.
Set the boundary.
Take the trip.
Wear the dress. 👗
Ask for what you want.
Put yourself out there.

You don’t need certainty.
You need enough courage to take the first shot. ❤️

Healing creates space.
Space creates capacity.
Capacity creates possibility.

This may “sound bad” but I genuinely had zero plans to be productive today. 😂

I was fully prepared to embrace couch-lock mode.

But apparently my brain decided:
“Actually, we’re reorganizing and deep cleaning the living room.” 🤷🏻‍♀️🧼🧹😂 oh well, totally worth it!

I don’t always understand the way my brain finds motivation, but when the momentum hits… I apparently just have to ride it out.

And honestly?

It looks and feels SO much better. So we’re calling this a win. 😂👍

Anyone else have those random bursts of motivation where you suddenly have to do the thing?

When life gets too overwhelming, so you simply just leave. 😂🚀🐈

Honestly… relatable. 😂

My son built Holly a cardboard spaceship and I decided she deserved a proper departure from Earth. 🐈‍⬛🛸✨

She has snacks.
She has her favorite floofers.
She has a spaceship.
And she has absolutely no idea where she’s going.

Sounds like a solid Friday night to me. 😂

I’ve been looking for a denim dress that fits just right for YEARS!!!

And then I found this one. 😭❤️🥹

The fit. The curls. The sunshine. The fact that my body actually feels GOOD. 🤯

After so many years of health challenges, there is something incredibly special about realizing:

Wait… I actually really like being in this body!

I don’t think we talk enough about how exciting the good parts of recovery can be.

Sometimes it’s not some huge milestone.

Sometimes it’s putting on a dress you’ve been searching for forever, looking in the mirror and thinking…

“Oh. There she is.” 🥹

And apparently she’s a denim queen. 😂🤷🏻‍♀️💁🏻‍♀️👸🏻

Apparently yoga now means right this second!
Not “I’ll be there in a minute.” And definitely not
“I need my tea first.” 😂

Holly takes her job very seriously.
And honestly… she’s very good at her job. 😂🐈‍⬛🧘‍♀️
I, apparently, need to work on my punctuality. 💁🏻‍♀️

Space creates capacity.
Capacity creates possibility. ❤️

I’ve been thinking a lot about accountability lately...

Not the kind where we publicly shame someone for making a mistake. I’m talking about the quieter kind.

The kind that happens when we knowingly participate in something that doesn’t align with our own values or may cause harm to the people around us.

We can tell ourselves:
“I was just doing my job.”
“Everyone else was doing it.”
“I didn’t make the decision, I was told to.”
“I didn’t think about the consequences.”

And maybe those circumstances matter...
But they don’t completely remove our agency.

Every choice we make is also a choice about who we are willing to become. And this is where the phrase “shame on you” gets interesting.

We often talk about shame as though it’s something another person can cast onto us.

Someone can criticize you.
Condemn you.
Judge you.
Tell you that you should feel ashamed.

But the deepest kind of shame doesn’t necessarily come from them. 🤔

It comes from within.

When our actions and our values are in conflict, that dissonance can show up as guilt, shame, anxiety, defensiveness, disconnection, or a deep need to justify what we’ve done.

Sometimes that discomfort isn’t someone else’s judgment at all.🤯

It’s our own conscience asking us to look at what we participated in. And I don’t believe we’re meant to live in shame.

Shame can be a signal.
Accountability asks us to listen to that signal, take ownership of our choices, acknowledge the impact, make amends where possible, and choose differently moving forward.

That’s where shame can become something else:
Responsibility.
Repair.
Integrity.

We don’t heal by convincing ourselves that our choices didn’t matter. We heal by becoming honest enough to make different choices. And ultimately, no one else gets to decide who you are.

Your choices do.

Healing creates space.
Space creates capacity.
Capacity creates possibility.

Apparently, getting stronger isn’t always about lifting heavier… plus I was focused on the wrong muscle groups. 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ oops.

After my shoulder assessment this week, I got some really encouraging news: my physio doesn’t think I’m a surgery candidate. Instead, he thinks we can work through this by strengthening the weaker muscles and rebuilding my stability.

Which means… back to basics. 🙃

And honestly? I’m excited about it!
Being hypermobile and having the goals to gain muscle and strength, I must learn how to train my specific body better. And so I shall! 😃

I’m not trying to get back to the exact version of myself I was before.

I’m building the athletic and wiser version.
I can see her…

Stronger.
More balanced.
More capable.
More connected to her body.

Capacity creates possibility. ❤️

Health struggles can change so many little things...
Many of my clients struggle with health related hair loss or unexpected changes to their hair as they recover.

Routines change. Energy levels change.
Sometimes you just stop putting effort into the things that used to make you feel good because you’re just trying to get through the day.

And somewhere along the way, you can forget the little things you actually love about yourself.

I recently started making more time for my hair and re-discovered how much I love my curly hair. 🥹

I genuinely thought “wow, I forgot how cute my hair is!” 😂

It sounds like such a small thing, but it actually made me really happy.

Recovery isn’t always one big moment where suddenly everything is better.

Sometimes it’s little pieces of yourself coming back.🙏

Space creates capacity.
Capacity creates possibility.🫶
