What an incredible honor it was to spend the past eight weeks with a remarkable group of leaders and students from the Eden Valley community of Bearspaw First Nation Bearspaw HRD
One of the things I never tire of witnessing is what happens when people begin to see themselves differently. Through our Future Ready Skills program, participants explored their strengths, discovered new possibilities, and worked courageously through barriers that may have held them back from fully flourishing.
From the very first day to graduation, the growth in the room was undeniable. Confidence grew. Vision expanded. Relationships strengthened. And most importantly, people began to recognize that their experiences, gifts, talents, and stories carry tremendous value.
One of my favorite parts of the program was seeing each participant create their own Next Steps Framework, a practical roadmap for what comes next after the course. Rather than simply finishing a program, they left with a plan. A vision. A direction. They identified goals, opportunities, and actions they are excited to pursue as they continue moving toward their dreams.
I've learned over the years that transformation rarely happens in isolation. It happens in community. It happens when people encourage one another, believe in one another, and walk alongside one another. That's exactly what we witnessed together.
To the students, families, Elders, leaders, and community members of Eden Valley and Community Futures Treaty 7 thank you for welcoming us, trusting us, and allowing us to be part of your journey. Thank you Janelle Kennedy and Darci-Lee Rider for your daily support. Your courage, wisdom, resilience, and commitment to growth left a lasting impact on myself and Cynthia.
We are grateful for the opportunity to support, encourage, and equip.
Watching each graduate step out with renewed confidence, a clearer vision for your future, and a plan to pursue your dreams was truly inspiring.
