Rick Kroeker opened Little Rock Printing in 1994, when his son Brian was just 10 years old.

Today, the two work side-by-side as COO and President, respectively. Together, they've grown their family-owned, grassroots business into one of the city's most reliable commercial printing companies, churning out everything from brochures to signage. The secret to our success? We treat each job with the same meticulous attention to detail, no matter the size or scope of the project. That means an order for 50 Business Cards receives the same amount of diligence as an ongoing print contract for a major corporation. We offer the access of a Staples with a convenient location and free parking combined with the print equipment of a major commercial print facility resulting in a unique service offering for all size orders and customers. Our Inglewood print facility has no boardrooms, no office doors and is full of the highest end state of the art print and finishing equipment. If you walk in to our shop you have full view of all of our equipment and all of our staff and if you call in we actually answer the phones. We have no outside sales people and our owners work in customer service on the front lines with you, our customers. We feel that the interaction with our customers is important and therefore we have our owners answer the phones, respond to emails and take your orders. Its backwards, its different and it works creating a unique experience.

What happens when a cardboard rocketship jumps off the page and into real life? 🚀📚

Cambridge author Jerry Grech created the Echo Series to encourage friendship, kindness, creativity, and plenty of imagination. His newest book, Echo and the Cardboard Rocketship, inspired a companion Builder Kit that lets kids transform ordinary cardboard into rockets, robots, vehicles, and whatever else they dream up.

Little Rock printed the box labels that tie the kit back to the book and give the whole project a polished finish.

By day, Kattakind works in visual effects and animation. After hours? It’s all about watercolour birds in very silly hats. 🐦🎩

The Vancouver artist has turned those happy little critters into a postcard collection that travels with them to Artist Alleys across Canada. Fans take the cards home, stick them on fridges and walls, and even share photos of where the birds end up.

Little Rock makes it easy to keep plenty of colourful, double-sided designs in the mix.

Twenty-five years of making counselling more accessible is worth celebrating. 💙

Insight Counselling & Therapy Centre is a Calgary charity that works to keep cost from becoming a barrier to mental health support. Their sliding scale starts at just $15 per session, with additional subsidies available for people who qualify.

For their recent Annual General Meeting, Little Rock printed professional invitations that helped Insight bring clients, partners, and community stakeholders together to mark 25 years of service.

Two years ago, Jade Roberts made the leap to full-time artist. 🎨

The Saskatoon-based Indigenous digital illustrator now runs Jade Levi Artwork, with Little Rock as her go-to print shop for turning original designs into high-quality art prints.

Madeleine Belanger’s book and stationery business shares stories of rescue cats through greeting cards, art prints, stickers, and more. Little Rock’s flexible quantities let her restock individual designs without committing to big minimums or piles of extra inventory.

Keeping production in Canada matters to Madeleine too, so we’re especially happy to give this cat-loving small business a Canadian home for its printing.

A $125 quote for ten black-and-white copies almost stopped this Calgary literary journal before their first issue even printed.

Instead of scaling back, though, Exclamation Mark rethought the details (and the printer):
📕 Matte cover stock
📕 70 # uncoated interior pages
📕 A page count planned around saddle-stitch binding from the start.

With these changes and a new printing partner for their zine, they ended up with 50 professional copies for about $2 each.

That issue now has its own ISSN from Library and Archives Canada, and it's sitting on shelves at Shelf Life and Audreys Books.

One tip that saved them: always order a proof. It's the easiest way to catch a mistake, like a misspelled name, before it becomes permanent.

For children’s author Jackie McCance, the best feedback comes from watching young readers light up. 📚❤️

Jackie brings her books to trade shows, where Little Rock posters help her characters stand out and draw people into the display. One favourite project was an activity book featuring two of her Forest Friends heading to a rodeo, complete with the bright colours and playful artwork that make the story fun to explore.

Now Jackie is working on a new book series, starting with Am I a Good Boy?

Some party favours are too good to leave behind on the table. 🍻💍

For their engagement party, Emily Dickson and her fiancé wanted a keepsake inspired by two beers that had been favourites since they first started dating: Asahi and Peroni.

They used ChatGPT to generate the initial concept, polished the designs in Adobe Creative Cloud, and brought them to Little Rock for custom coasters featuring their own names.

The result was a hit with guests and a pretty perfect little memento for the couple and their families.

A personal poem about grief became something an entire community could step into. 💙

Calgary art therapist Christy Herdman created Be Blue after losing her dad. What started as a six-week exploration of “Be, Bee, B, and Blue” eventually grew into an interactive community art project for the Storyteller Festival in Parksville, BC.

Little Rock helped Christy turn the idea into a giant 24" x 24" four-page coroplast storybook, where visitors could add their own interpretations and experiences to the story.

We love seeing print turn something deeply personal into a space for creativity, connection, and shared voices. Thanks for bringing us into it, Christy. ❤️

Sometimes seeing your work in print is the moment a project finally feels real. 📚

That was certainly true for Exclamation Mark Literary Journal. The volunteer-run Calgary publication launched online in February, but printing a physical issue initially felt out of reach for a tiny new magazine.

Little Rock helped change that. Their inaugural print issue came in at a price they could manage, looked every bit as professional as they hoped, and has now sold more than 100 copies to readers around the world.

We’re thrilled we could help put that first issue on bookstore shelves. Congratulations, Exclamation Mark! ❤️
