So we announced a thing today! 🗣

✍️ We presented a whitepaper, methodology and a number of tests and trials to a number of universities to see who had interest in partnering with us for an academic study on our proprietary mental performance program and we came to an agreement with the University of Victoria. (see the formal announcement at the link) https://www.think-fx.com/uvic_research 🔬

🙋🏽 A number of universities were interested and we were fortunate to come to an agreement with the University of Victoria and Dr. Olave Krigolson through the Theoretical and Applied Neuroscience Laboratory. 🧠

There is so much research talent in this field including University of Lethbridge, University of Calgary and University of Alberta, but Olave's work with mobile EEG devices validating efficacy, testing with NASA sponsorship, working with Tibetan Monks and consulting with world leading sport-shoe manufacturer research team made U-VIC the perfect fit. 🥇

(One other criteria that made him a good fit was that I learned that Olave played on a rival basketball team in high school in B.C. and he was still willing to do it) 🙂

Never in my life have I used the words "over the moon," but I am about this. 🤸

The program basically combines and layers proven brain training in a very specific program that actually measures and shows improvements in brain function in the sticky things that get in our way.

🎯 Internal distraction,

🎯 external distraction,

🎯 calm,

🎯 focus,

🎯 fear response,

🎯 decision-making,

🎯 burn out,

🎯perspective and many more.

We have found that stated results vary depending on individual circumstance and some benefits are recognized the first time an individual experiences a situation and needs to draw upon a new response for the first time.

Custom, credible neurofeedback training is typically out of reach of most due to cost and convenience, but this will make it more accessible to more people. No longer for just military special forces, surgeons, professional athletes or fortune 100 executives.

There's more detail on the website, and we are also currently looking for 30 individuals to participate in the research study in late spring. To cover some of the research costs of the device, we are charging a material fee of $199 per person for the highest tier of the training priced at around $2,000.

What kind of support do you experience through MBNR-8?

Here's an introduction to the final phase, self-hypnosis where we support a strong connection between your thinking region to your feeling region. It's easy to have an intention and set a goal in your mind, but depending on motivation and willpower is where we fall apart; think new years resolutions as the ultimate example.

Most of us won't follow through and the few that do depend on sheer willpower and raw effort which is the primary source of burnout.

Strengthening the connection between the brain's CEO (pre-frontal cortex) and the body's "feeler" (Insula) supports the motivational sweet spot to allow for follow through for some and burnout avoidance for others...

In the high-pressure world of executive leadership, we are often told that "mindset is everything." We try to think our way out of stress, reason our way out of anxiety, and willpower our way into focus. But there is a biological reality that most leaders miss: It is nearly impossible to talk your brain into being calm when your body is screaming "danger."

If you want to change your mental state and achieve the focus, clarity, and decision-making precision required of modern organizations, you must move beyond thoughts and start mastering your physiology. This is the core of the MBNR-8 (Mindfulness-Based Neuro-Resilience) program.

The fundamental truth is that your lungs are the remote control for your brain. By changing how you breathe, you can manually override your nervous system's stress response and switch to a state of calm, relaxed alertness.

The Vagus Nerve: The Wiring Behind the Remote
To understand the remote control, you have to understand the wiring. The vagus nerve is the primary driver of the parasympathetic nervous system, acting as a bidirectional superhighway between the brain and major organs like the heart and lungs.

When you are under pressure, the "gas pedal" of the sympathetic nervous system takes over, narrowing your vision and impairing your "rational" brain. To regain strategic focus and emotional regulation, you must engage your "vagal brake." Stimulating the vagus nerve lowers your heart rate and re-engages the prefrontal cortex which is the engine of complex decision-making and sound judgment.

The Science from Stanford: Why "Cyclic Sighing" Wins
While there are many ways to influence the vagus nerve, MBNR-8 prioritizes Cyclic Sighing (the physiological sigh) because of its proven speed and efficacy.

Recent landmark research from Stanford Medicine found that cyclic sighing is more effective at improving mood and reducing resting respiratory rates than standard mindfulness meditation. While meditation is a valuable long-term tool, cyclic sighing offers an immediate physiological reset, making it the ideal "on-the-go" tool for busy executives.

How to use the "Remote Control":

The Double Inhale: Take a deep breath in through your nose, then at the very top, take a second, shorter "sip" of air. As the Stanford researchers explain, this second inhale reinflates the tiny air sacs (alveoli) in your lungs that collapse during stress, maximizing your capacity to offload Carbon Dioxide.
The Long Exhale: Release the breath through your mouth as slowly as possible.

Why the Long Exhale is the "Mute" Button for Stress
The physiological magic happens during that extended exhale. As you breathe out slowly, your diaphragm moves upward, making the space in your chest cavity smaller. This causes the heart to compress slightly, which slows blood flow.

The brain senses this change and sends a signal back through the vagus nerve to slow the heart rate down even further. In response, the brain releases the natural tranquilizer acetylcholine. This restores mental clarity and allowing you to make faster, more accurate decisions.

The MBNR-8 Performance Edge
MBNR-8 integrates these proven respiratory mechanics with advanced neurotechnology. By using EEG-driven feedback (like the Muse headband), MBNR-8 provides objective, data-driven validation of your internal state. This shifts the practice from a subjective "soft skill" to a measurable competitive advantage.

For Leaders: Cultivate the resilience to maintain clear decision-making under intense pressure.
For Teams: Build an environment of psychological safety and reduced reactivity for true innovation.
For Performance: Use neuro-regulation to switch from being reactive to being intentional and strategically focused.

***Check out live self-hypnosis brainwaves from this morning's training!"*** Notice the purple Theta waves increasing to equal and surpass the Alpha waves indicating a level of increased receptivity and entry into a hypnotic state....

Self-Hypnosis is clinically proven to increase one's suggestibility in the brain to openly accept your intentions through creating a connection between the "Thinking Brain" (pre-frontal cortex) and the "feeling brain" (Insula) to wire biological motivation in pursuit of your objectives. Reducing stress, increasing focus, enhancing confidence, starting or stopping a habit...

What does that mean? During hypnosis you wire in what you want to do, be achieve and how you want to show up and perform...

Weeks 4-8 in MNBR-8 includes self-hypnosis as the final phase of the trimodal protocol. Accessible, structured and impactful.

High Performers: Your "Brute Force" is Holding You Back. 🛡️

If you’re a high achiever, you’re likely an expert at using volume and sheer grit to get things done.

But here’s the cold truth: Willpower and motivation are finite and fleeting. 🔋
Neuroscience shows that relying on "gritting your teeth" creates a high cognitive load that leads to burnout. We designed MBNR-8 because we recognized that for high performers, the hardest part isn't the work—it's letting go of the old habits that got you here.

What makes MBNR-8 life-changing?

The Neural Bridge: In Phase 3, we architect a specific connection from the "Thinker" (prefrontal cortex) to the "Feeler" (limbic system).

Biological Motivation: We move past "logic" and instigate a biological drive to act the moment you drift from your intentions.

Permanent Rewiring: By the time the protocol is done, your brain is literally wired for a new level of performance that doesn't require exhaustion.

Stop trying to outwork your own biology. MBNR-8 is architected to keep you going until the wiring is changed for life. 🚀

www.think-fx.com/mbnr-8

The High Performer’s Paradox: Why Grit Isn't Enough for MBNR-8

In the world of elite performance, we often celebrate "the grind." But from a neurological perspective, the grind is incredibly expensive.

Most high achievers have found success through brute force. They’ve wired themselves to push through fatigue using willpower. However, willpower is a finite resource. When you rely on it to start new habits, you aren't just building a routine; you’re fast-tracking yourself toward burnout and deep-seated dissatisfaction.

This is why MBNR-8 is more than a protocol—it is a feat of Behavioral Engineering.

1. The High Performer’s Trap
High performers are often the hardest to transition into new habits. Their "old" habits have been reinforced by past success, creating a neural rigidity. They try to apply brute force to MBNR-8, but that only increases cognitive friction.

2. Building the Neural Highway
MBNR-8 is architected to bypass the "struggle" phase by shifting behavior from the prefrontal cortex (the seat of willpower) to the basal ganglia (the brain’s habit center). This reduces the cognitive load, making excellence the path of least resistance.

3. Phase 3: The Thinker-Feeler Connection
The most critical innovation within MBNR-8 occurs in Phase 3. We focus on creating a specific neural connection between the "Thinker" and the "Feeler."

Usually, we think about what we should do, but our feelings (biological impulses) don't align. Phase 3 instigates a biological motivation to act. It creates a neurological "itch" or a sense of healthy tension the moment you are not fulfilling your intentions. You don't have to remind yourself to get back on track; your biology does it for you.

4. Rewired for Life
The "secret sauce" of MBNR-8 is that it isn't a permanent crutch. It is a scaffolding system. Once the protocol is complete, the behavioral engineering has done its job: the wiring in your brain is changed for life. What used to require intense focus and "grit" becomes your new automated default.

The Bottom Line: A Life-Changing Shift
The ROI of MBNR-8 isn't just a better metric—it's a fundamental biological upgrade. Users report the impact is life-changing because they no longer have to "try" to be disciplined; they have been re-architected for performance.

When you stop fighting your biology and start engineering your neural pathways, "following through" stops being a chore and starts becoming who you are.

Have you ever tried hypnosis? How about self-hypnosis? Hypnosis is a clinically proven methodology shown to increase theta brain waves to increase and sometimes surpass alpha waves signaling a calm relaxation that puts the brain in a state of heightened suggestibility. It links the CEO brain (pre-frontal cortex) to the insula connecting specific intention and goals to emotional and visceral motivation to respond.

There is no quacking like a duck, just relaxed brain state to make a deep connection to your intentions. Used in clinical setting and by professional athletes and corporate executives, we make it accessible and measurable in the MBNR-8 program with neurotechnology.
