Don't get us wrong, it was great working hard this week here at Rocky Mountain Mobile. We caught up with employers we work with annually to check in and say hi, plan out our testing this year. We had exciting introductions with new employers. Most importantly, worked with a lot of great folks onsite. It was busy!

So, when we had one of our workers wish us a happy weekend this morning (how lucky are we to work with such awsome people), we said yeah.....
Happy Weekend indeed!

What is NIHL?
It's Noise Induced Hearing Loss and is one of the most common work related injuries. NIHL is usually so gradual that workers start to notice a hearing problem when hearing loss becomes significant and affects their ability to hear speech.
And it's irreversible.

Can it be detected before it's a concern?
Yes it certainly can. Regular audiometric testing can detect early indications of NIHL before it can become a concern.

Is it preventable?
Absolutely. With any workplace hazard, elimination is key. If noise cannot be eliminated at the workplace, hearing protection is key along with regular audiometric testing.

Ask us how we can bring onsite audiometric testing to your workplace to save you time and money.

Did you know that hearing loss can be caused by exposure to certain chemicals called ototoxicants?

Industries that are particularly susceptible include:
Construction
Firefighting
Mining
Furniture Making
Manufacturing of metal, leather and petroleum products
Painting
Printing

Did you also know that exposure to both noise and ototoxicants can have a synergistic effect? Meaning if both noise and solvent exposures are at a permissible level, together they can become hazardous.

Protection from ototoxicants with respiratory protective equipment can help.

Ask us about our mask fit testing services.
We offer quantitative mask fit tests with our industry leading quantifit. Be sure that your employees respirators fit!
