🎃 Trick-or-treating, costumes, spooky decorations and LOTS of excited voices — Halloween can be a big night for little ears.

If your child wears hearing aids, a little preparation can make the evening more comfortable and enjoyable. From trying on the costume ahead of time to packing a backup kit and planning for a quiet break, these small things can make a difference.

And don't forget to let your child have some fun with their hearing aids! 👻 Whether they want them to match their costume, stand out or simply do their job without being fussed over, let them take the lead.

Some things hearing-aid users are just tired of hearing. 😅

Hearing aids can make a big difference, but they don’t mean every conversation will be easy. Background noise, distance, competing voices and the way someone speaks can all affect how well we understand what’s being said.

Sometimes, it’s not about trying harder to listen. It’s about meeting each other halfway.

A little patience, facing someone when you speak and being willing to repeat or rephrase can go a long way. OR bonus points for having a conversation with your loved one about how both of you can make communication easier together.

Because hearing better is a team effort. 👂

“You heard me. Why didn't you answer?”

For someone with hearing loss, missing a few words or not realizing someone is speaking to them can happen more often than others realize.

Even with hearing aids, conversations aren't always effortless — especially when someone is speaking from another room or there's competing noise.

A little patience can go a long way. Get their attention before speaking, face them when possible and remember that asking someone to repeat themselves isn't the same as not listening.

Sometimes, they're not ignoring you. They just didn't hear you. 💚
