WFR Wholesale Fire & Rescue Ltd. WFR Wholesale Fire & Rescue is Canada's equipment destination for fire & rescue equipment. WFR Wholesale Fire & Rescue Ltd. Allen, founder, 1986

(WFR) is a family owned and operated business serving Western Canada since 1986. The founder started this business with a simple mission: “To supply the best possible equipment that will improve the safety of our firefighters while they fight to save lives and property.”

We found there was a lack of product knowledge and service in our industry, and we endeavored to fill this need. We accomplished this and became a quality one stop shop for our customers. This has not changed over the years, as we bring hundreds of suppliers with thousands of tested and proven products together in one warehouse. As we continue to expand and bring you the latest in technology, we will endeavour to continue our history of supplying you, the customer, our best products and unquestionable service and support.

Post from Mercedes Textiles

Your hose flows great. But does it fit? đź‘€

Flow, pressure, weight and friction loss usually get most of the attention when spec’ing hose—but packability matters, too.

The construction and profile of your hose can impact how much fits in your hose bed, how efficiently you use the space you have and ultimately how that hose deploys when it’s time to stretch.

Same apparatus. Same hose bed. Different hose can mean a very different fit.

Before you load it, know what you’re working with.

"I have learned that staying motivated as a firefighter or officer is not about feeling inspired every day. It is about building the habits, purpose, discipline, and perspective that carry us through the years. Motivation in the fire service must mature with us. What drove me as a newer member is not always the same thing that drives me now. The challenge is to keep growing while staying connected to why I started."

Post from Nightstick Fire & Industrial

Clip the INTRANT® IS Dual Light Angle Light to your gear and it runs hands free, spotlight and flood, both at once. Unclip it and it works just as well in hand for a closer look.

Structure fire, vehicle extrication, size up. Same light, however the job needs it.

We were recently able take part in an celebration that awarded Redwood Meadows Emergency Services a grant to help replace equipment lost at its station fire last December and also celebrated the opening of Firehouse Subs’ 200th Canadian restaurant.

Congratulations to Redwood Meadows Emergency Services on receiving this grant and to Firehouse Subs Canada on this milestone!

Post from Task Force Tips

No one wants hydrant ops to feel like a guess.

When the fireground needs change, access is tight, or the lay gets longer than planned, having more options with your hydrant valve gives your crew a more confident supply setup from the start.

Aggressive departments choose the Oasis 4-way valve to win the fireground.

Want to see how it fits your setup? Learn more about it on our site: https://buff.ly/T4Rklib

Today is a day to honour residential school Survivors, remember the children who never returned home, and recognize the lasting impacts of residential schools on Indigenous peoples, families, and communities.

We take this opportunity to reflect on the history and ongoing legacy of residential schools in Canada, acknowledge the harms caused, and continue to recognize the importance of listening to Indigenous communities to support meaningful reconciliation.

Post from Bullard Emergency Responder

A Bullard thermal imager was used to break through a window frame during a rescue.

It took the impact and remained in service for another six to seven years.

Fireground equipment rarely gets to choose how it will be used. It has to perform through heat, impact, hard landings and the unexpected.

For 30 years, Bullard has built thermal imagers around the realities of the fireground.

It has been great to catch up and see many of our customers at the events the past couple of weeks.

We were in Peace River for the Peace Regional Fire Chiefs (PRFC) Northern H.E.A.T. Conference. A huge thanks to Marcel Maure, Tim Harris, Mike Frayne, Brian Kroes, Aandrea Gardiner, Mike Shykora, & Luci Martinson for their efforts in organizing. We are looking forward to next year!

Then we were on to Edmonton for the Alberta Industrial Fire and Emergency Management Association (AIFEMA) meeting. Thank you to the Association for putting on an excellent event, it was a great, informative conference!
