Asbestos contaminated Blow In on top of Vermiculite, on top of Wood Chips!? Calgary's and southern Alberta's most challenging projects are what we live for!

Contaminated insulation is a High Risk asbestos abatement, requiring strict observance of regulatory guidelines as set out by Alberta Occupational Health and Safety. These requirements include:

- Daily Air Monitoring including Pre- and Post- sampling to ensure the workers are safe and the rest of the home is free of cross-contamination,
- Decontamination Units for all staff entering and leaving the restricted workspace, including an on-site shower,
- HEPA certified air scrubbing units installed creating negative pressure so no asbestos fibers can leave the work area,
- HEPA certified and on-site tested vacuum cleaners, and
- Powered Full Face HEPA air filtration units for anyone entering the work area as personal exposure to asbestos fibers can be a deadly one.

In Canada, women make up roughly 14% of the construction workforce, and at Amity Environmental we would love to see that number increase! While traditionally underrepresented, women are increasingly taking on roles in skilled trades, project management, and leadership. We support Women in Construction, offering equal opportunities in management, leadership, and technician roles through experience, education, and coaching wherever possible.
