We are pleased to share that the Sound QI team continues to grow, and that we have recently welcomed Jorge Reveron, PhD to our team.
Jorge joins Sound QI with more than 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, specializing in seismic interpretation, Quantitative Interpretation (QI), and rock physics. He holds a PhD in Geophysics, as well as an MSc in Reservoir Characterization.
Throughout his career, Jorge has held senior technical roles with organizations including Petróleos de Venezuela, Repsol, and Petronas. His work has contributed to reservoir studies, hydrocarbon discoveries, seismic shallow-hazards initiatives, and exploration projects around the world. He is also the author of more than 30 publications in leading geoscience journals and has served as an advisor on numerous bachelor's and master's theses.
Based in Malaysia, Jorge joins Sound QI as a Senior Geophysicist and will provide local QI services and technical advice for users of our Maestro software. This will help us further strengthen our relationships throughout Malaysia and the broader Southeast Asian region. Having a highly experienced geophysicist based within the region allows us to work more closely with clients, better understand local challenges, and provide an even higher level of technical support and collaboration.
Jorge's expertise focuses on maximizing the value of seismic data through rock physics, AVO analysis, seismic inversion, and integrated subsurface interpretation. He has consistently championed approaches that bring together multiple geoscience disciplines to improve reservoir characterization and support exploration and development decisions.
When asked why he chose to join Sound QI, Jorge shared:
“The opportunity to join the Sound QI team was a natural fit for me, both professionally and technically. I am excited to work with Dr. Carl Reine as part of a highly experienced team with broad industry experience. We will be supporting clients throughout Malaysia and the broader Southeast Asia region in solving complex subsurface challenges, and help further the growth of Maestro.
I look forward to applying my skills, industry knowledge, and experience in Quantitative Interpretation, rock physics, AVO, seismic inversion, and integrated reservoir characterization to help clients gain deeper insights from their data and make stronger technical and business decisions.”
We are excited to welcome Jorge to the Sound QI team.
