De Havilland Canada

De Havilland Canada Official Page | Built in Canada. Made for the World. Since 1928. De Havilland Canada. Rugged. Reliable. Canadian.

In 1928, De Havilland Aircraft of Canada was created to build aircraft and train personnel for military missions in the defence of freedom. Over generations, the company evolved to lead Canadian aerospace innovation by designing aircraft that access remote communities, carry travellers between urban centres, deliver aid and cargo, save lives, and safeguard communities the world over. From iconic,

legendary aircraft like the Beaver, Buffalo, Caribou, and Otter – each still flying strong – to today’s fleet of Dash 8s, Twin Otters, and aerial firefighters that help protect people and property during wildfires, De Havilland Canada is the recognized global leader in manufacturing and maintaining special-mission aircraft that get the job done. As De Havilland Canada approaches the end of its first century, the company is looking towards the next one hundred years. We are creating a new home that builds on our legacy of aviation leadership, but also stimulates a new era and ecosystem of Canadian aerospace discovery and excellence – a state-of-the-art aerospace campus just east of Calgary that we call De Havilland Field.

Aerospace pushes the limits of what’s possible. That takes trust, collaboration, and teams who can contribute their ideas, expertise, and perspectives without barriers.

This Pride Month, we’re celebrating the people who help move our industry forward and reaffirming our commitment to fostering a workplace where everyone feels respected, supported, and able to be themselves.

Strong teams can’t create progress through sameness. Progress is built by people with different experiences, viewpoints, and strengths working towards a common goal.

That’s what drives innovation on the ground, in the air, and beyond.

The best part about the Calgary Stampede isn’t just the 10 days themselves, it’s the anticipation that comes before them. The excitement, the planning, and the feeling that something everyone looks forward to is just around the corner.

We’re dusting off our boots and getting ready for another season of races, great company, and unforgettable memories that will last long after the final day.

The countdown is officially on! Who’s getting excited?

At the edge of the map, readiness isn’t a concept — it’s a commitment.

From remote communities and northern operations to emergency response efforts and missions around the world, the members of the Canadian Armed Forces serve wherever they are needed most.

Their service strengthens Canada’s presence, preparedness, and resilience from coast to coast. It demands adaptability, dedication, and a willingness to go wherever duty calls.

On Canadian Armed Forces Day, we proudly recognize and thank the women and men who serve, as well as the families who support them every step of the way.

We are honoured that De Havilland aircraft help support the Canadian Armed Forces in carrying out vital missions across Canada and around the world. While aircraft may provide the capability, it is the skill, courage, and commitment of the people who operate them that make those missions possible.

Thank you for your dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering service to Canadians.

Today, we are proud to honour those who serve.

Fun Fact Friday!

Water scooping is where advanced aircraft capability and pilot expertise intersect. In just 12 seconds, the DHC-515 can take approximately 6,137 litres of water while skimming across the surface. Managing speed, water conditions, terrain, and timing simultaneously make it one of aviation's toughest precision operations.

If supply chain had a warning label, what would it say?

For International Supply Chain Professionals Day, we asked members of our supply chain team to create their own warning labels, and their answers reflected the realities of a role where no two days look the same.

One minute they’re managing a challenge no one anticipated. The next, they’re putting out fires before anyone else knows there’s smoke. This is the work that keeps operations moving, challenges addressed, and commitments on track.

Thank you to George Ayee, Tosin Marcel-Falase, and Catalina Clavero for sharing their perspectives and helping shine light on the world of supply chain at DHC.

Supply chain means something different to each employee you ask.

In recognition of International Supply Chain Professionals Day, we asked members of our team to describe supply chain in just three words. While each answer was unique, they all reflected similar principles: collaboration, adaptability, and the ability to navigate a constantly changing environment.

At DHC, supply chain is a critical part of how we deliver on our commitments every day.

Thank you to George Ayee, Tosin Marcel-Falase, and Catalina Clavero for participating and providing a glimpse into the world of supply chain.

How would you describe supply chain in three words?

Not every aircraft can move a rhino. The DHC-5 Buffalo can.

In a world-first conservation operation, STOL Air Solutions has been using the legendary DHC-5 Buffalo to relocate black rhinos back to Zimbabwe's Matusadona National Park. The Buffalo's unmatched STOL performance and ability to operate from remote airstrips made it the only aircraft capable of getting the job done.

This is more than a remarkable aviation story, it's a conservation success story that's helping return black rhinos to a landscape they haven't called home for over 30 years.

Three decades after their parents were evacuated to save them from the bullets of poachers, a group of black rhinos has returned home to Zimbabwe’s Matusadona National Park.…
