📢 New TR to PR Pathway Update

Canada’s new TR to PR pathway may exclude workers living in major cities.

Immigration Minister Lena Diab confirmed the program will likely focus on rural areas, meaning applicants in large urban centres may not qualify.

📍 This includes cities like Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa-Gatineau, Winnipeg, Quebec City, Halifax, Hamilton, and Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo.

📊 The pathway is expected to grant PR to 33,000 temporary workers in 2026–2027.

👀 If you are working in Canada, your location could affect your eligibility.

📢 Alberta Immigration Update – April 2026

Alberta issued new AAIP invitations in several targeted draws.

Invited candidates included tech workers, health care candidates, rural immigrants, and construction/skilled trades workers.

The draws took place between April 8 and April 14, 2026, with minimum scores ranging from 50 to 60.

A total of 332 invitations were issued.

This shows Alberta is still focusing on workers in key labour shortage areas.

📢 Super Visa Update – March 2026

Canada just made it easier to qualify for the Super Visa 👇

✅ Two major changes:

1️⃣ Longer income check period
You can now meet the income requirement using either of the last 2 tax years
👉 Before: only the most recent year counted

2️⃣ Parents’ income can help
Part of the visiting parent or grandparent’s income can now be included
👉 This can help cover any shortfall

⚠️ Note: The government has not yet confirmed how much of the income must come from the host.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 This means more families may now qualify.

Citizenship Rules Changed (Bill C-3)

Big change to Canadian citizenship law 🇨🇦

For years, the “first-generation limit” stopped many people from passing citizenship to their children born abroad.

That’s now changed.

Bill C-3 just opened new doors—and many people may now qualify without even realizing it.

We explain:
• What the first-generation limit was
• What changed in 2025
• Who may now be eligible
• What documents you’ll need

You might already be Canadian — you just don’t know it yet.

Express Entry Update 🇨🇦 — Job Offer Points May Return

Canada may bring back CRS points for job offers - for high wage positions.

Earlier in 2025, points for job offers (50–200 CRS) were removed. Now, IRCC is signaling that this could be reconsidered.

No official change yet — but this is something to watch closely.

If job offer points return, it could significantly shift rankings in the pool and change strategies for many candidates.

For now, nothing has changed — but this could be a major update if confirmed.

Eligibility Guide (Bill C-3)

Do you qualify under the new citizenship rules?

We created a step-by-step eligibility guide so you can check your situation clearly.

• Common scenarios (parents born abroad, etc.)
• Key documents you must have
• Mistakes to avoid

Express Entry Update 🇨🇦 — Lowest CRS in 18 Months

March 17, 2026 — Canada invited 4,000 candidates under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) with a CRS cut-off of 507, the lowest score seen in the past 18 months.

This confirms a clear trend in 2026: Canada is prioritizing candidates already working in Canada and lowering score thresholds in targeted draws.

If you have Canadian work experience, your chances right now are stronger than they’ve been in a long time.

If you’re in the pool, now is the time to ensure your profile is fully optimized.

Canada’s Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) may still return in 2026.

While IRCC has confirmed there will be no new intake at the start of the year, recent government instructions leave room for the program to reopen later if new directions are issued. In other words, the program is paused — not cancelled.

There’s no timeline or intake size confirmed yet, so families should expect uncertainty for now. Until then, the Super Visa remains the main option for parents and grandparents.
