West Kitikmeot Resources Corp We are building an Inuit owned and led resources company, developing the Kitikmeot for the benefit of the Kitikmeot Inuit. Head office:

P.O.

West Kitikmeot Resource Corp's largest shareholder is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Kitikmeot Inuit Association ("KIA"). The KIA is a democratically elected not-for-profit society that represents the Inuit of the Kitikmeot Region of Nunavut.

The Nunavut Land Claims Agreement and the Nunavut Act established Nunavut as a Territory and vested the Inuit of Nunavut with title to approximately 350,000 km2 of land, of which 35,257 km2 include mineral rights. The Kitkimeot Inuit were subsequently able to select areas of the highest mineral potential as Inuit Owned Lands. West Kitikmeot Resources Corp was formed in 2014 to finance and execute mineral exploration primarily on these Inuit Owned Lands, and has entered into Mineral Exploration Agreements with Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated to gain access to these lands. In February 2022, a group of investors with substantial Northern and mining experience recapitalized WKR with new investment to accelerate the work of the company. In November 2023, WKR announced an agreement with Canada and KIA, making WKR the proponent of the Grays Bay Road and Port Project. Box 6, 30B Mitik Street

West Kitikmeot Resources Corp. (WKR) has submitted its responses to 919 Information Requests (IRs) to the Nunavut Impact Review Board (NIRB) as part of the review of the Grays Bay Road and Port Project, a transformational, nation-building investment in Canada’s Arctic.

This submission marks an important milestone in the environmental review process. The sheer volume of information reflects the significance of this Project, which builds on two years of baseline studies and decades of prior work, more than 8,000 pages of technical analysis, and the assessment of 129 physical activities for cumulative effects.

The assessment also looks beyond Nunavut’s borders, evaluating transboundary effects that could reach neighbouring regions, including the Northwest Territories and the Inuvialuit Settlement Region across areas such as migratory caribou, marine mammals, and shared transportation and community services.

WKR is happy to provide this information and remains committed to full, transparent responses and to working with the NIRB throughout the review.

We thank all parties who submitted Information Requests, and we look forward to continuing to work with everyone to advance this important initiative for Inuit, Nunavummiut, and all Canadians.

The full Information Request (IR) package is available on WKR’s website: https://www.westkit.ca/file-downloads

We thank Cambridge Bay MLA Fred Pedersen for speaking in support of the Grays Bay Road and Port Project at the Kitikmeot Inuit Association’s AGM.

Fred noted that the Premier has confirmed in the Nunavut's Legislative Assembly that he supports the project, as does the Government of Nunavut.

He also recognized KIA's long-standing role as the original proponent of the project and its continued commitment to seeing it move forward.

Fred emphasized the need to keep the Grays Bay Road and Port Project on the federal government's radar and on the Major Projects List. We are grateful for Fred's continued advocacy for the project.

WKR was pleased to participate in the 2026 Kitikmeot Socio-Economic Monitoring Committee meeting and the 2026 Kitikmeot Mayors’ Forum in Cambridge Bay this week.

WKR’s Community Engagement Lead, Kassidy Koaha Laube, and Chief Operating Officer, Elliot Holland, provided updates on the Grays Bay Road and Port Project at both meetings.

At the Kitikmeot Socio-Economic Monitoring Committee meeting, Kassidy and Elliot shared an update on the current status of the project and participated in discussions on socio-economic priorities and opportunities across the Kitikmeot region.

At the Kitikmeot Mayors’ Forum, WKR had the opportunity to present to the mayors and CAOs/SAOs from each of the Kitikmeot communities. WKR provided an update on the project and shared information from our mission trips to ports in Nome, Alaska and Nuuk, Greenland this summer. Discussions focused on potential community uses of the Port of Grays Bay, community benefits, and opportunities for local businesses and entrepreneurs.

We appreciated the opportunity to join these important discussions with community representatives, governments, and industry partners and to hear directly from Kitikmeot communities about their priorities and opportunities.

Koana to the Government of Nunavut for organizing the Kitikmeot Socio-Economic Monitoring Committee meeting, and koana to the Municipality of Cambridge Bay for inviting WKR to present at the Kitikmeot Mayors’ Forum.
