The following forestry applications have been improved through the use of drones:

Visual Impact Assessments (VIAs) – drones have become a useful tool for VIA photos that are required in areas that traditionally require a boat to access, or require a long hike. 🥾

As we have advanced our drone program over the years, we have looked well beyond data capture. Data captured from Remotely Piloted Aircraft is novel, but if you aren’t able to interact, analyze and produce actionable data from it – it can appear shiny but have little substance.

Our drone crews have been active this year capturing LiDAR on a variety of sites, and we have been creating some impressive derivative data products. 🙌

This example shows one of our Digital Elevation Models depicting the bare earth surface in a heavily forested area. 🌲

We often combine our LiDAR point clouds with imagery that we also capture from the drone to provide the full range of data products. 💥
