Ever sit down to watch a movie, fire up a video call, or try to send a file and everything just... crawls?
You are not alone, and it is not always your internet plan that is the problem. Here are the most common reasons your internet slows down:
🔄 Your router needs a restart. Like any computer, routers get tired. A quick unplug (wait 30 seconds, plug back in) fixes a surprising number of speed issues.
📍 Distance from your router. The farther you are from your router, the weaker your signal. Walls, floors, and appliances all block your Wi-Fi signal.
👨👩👧👦 Too many devices. Every device using your network shares the same bandwidth. Streaming on a TV, gaming on a console, and video calling on a laptop at the same time adds up fast.
⏰ Peak hours. Between 6 PM and 9 PM, more people in your area are online. This is normal.
At Southern Wireless, when our customers call us with a slow internet problem, we actually pick up the phone. A real local person helps you troubleshoot, no wait music, no ticket number, no runaround.
If your internet has been consistently slow and nothing seems to help, it might be time for a plan upgrade or a router placement adjustment. We can walk you through both.
