This spotted turtle is fitted with our legacy SI-2F transmitter — now known as the XM3B. In this setup, the researcher has bolted the unit directly to the carapace for secure long-term tracking. Depending on the species and study needs, the transmitter can also be wired or glued to the outer edge of the shell. 🐢

🔔 Faster Pulse Rate – More frequent beeps make animals easier to locate and track.

Standard Lifespan is the expected battery life under typical operating conditions, using standard factory tuning with balanced signal strength and pulse rate settings. 🔋

Potential Lifespan is the maximum battery life that may be achieved by reducing signal strength, slowing the pulse rate, and incorporating duty-cycling schedules. ⏳

The best configuration depends on your study requirements, including range, tracking frequency, and desired battery life.
