Rubellite Energy Community Information Session:

Buffalo Lake Métis Settlement Council, Administration, and Consultation invite community members to attend an upcoming information session with Rubellite Energy at the BLMS Gym on March 26, 2026.

Rubellite will present its proposal to construct an access road and develop a wellsite west of BLMS, with plans to operate for approximately 25 years. Their initial proposal involves a road traveling through Traditional Lands where many BLMS members hunt, fish, and harvest medicines. This area is also currently part of our ongoing Wildlife Camera Monitoring Program.

Due to these concerns, an alternative route has been suggested. While the original route was proposed to come out by Bondiss Corner, a second and primary option for Rubellite would be to go straight south from the Amisk Lake area and tie into the Figure Lake access. The alternative would bring the road through the west side of the Settlement, avoiding the traditional land use areas and the wildlife monitoring program. Future Driling on Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement would align with this option.

Community members are encouraged to attend, learn more about the proposal, and ask questions.

Sponsorship Opportunities Still Available! ⛳

Our 2026 Buffalo Lake Métis Settlement Corporate Meet & Greet Golf Tournament has officially sold out and we couldn’t be more excited about the incredible support from our partners and community!

Although team registration is currently full, you can still join the waitlist. Any team spots that remain unpaid by May 15, 2026 will be released to waitlisted teams... so there’s still a chance to hit the course with us!

We also have a limited number of Hole Sponsorships available with only 8 spots remaining! This is a great opportunity for organizations to showcase their support and connect with participants throughout the day. As a Hole Sponsor, your organization will receive:

☑️Your company logo displayed at a sponsored hole
☑️Recognition during prize presentations
☑️Acknowledgement on our social media
☑️The option to set up an interactive display, activity, or game at your sponsored hole to engage with golfers

Even if you’re not golfing in the tournament, this is a fantastic way to support the event while promoting your organization.

We are also accepting Door Prize donations 🎁
If your company has branded merchandise or promotional items, we would love to include them as door prizes for our participants. Donating a prize is another great way to gain recognition and support the event.

If you plan to contribute a door prize, please let us know ahead of the tournament so we can keep everything organized and ensure your organization receives proper recognition.

Interested in sponsoring or donating? We would love to hear from you! Please call or email Tim Patenaude at 780-689-2170 or [email protected]

Thank you for your continued support!

Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement was proud to host our 2026 BLMS Industry Luncheon, bringing together valued partners, proponents, leadership, and guests for a meaningful afternoon of connection and collaboration.

This event, hosted by Buffalo Lake Limited Partnership (BLLP) the Buffalo Lake Consultation Office, provided an opportunity to strengthen relationships, foster open dialogue, and showcase the work we are doing on behalf of our Settlement. Through presentations and updates, we highlighted our ongoing projects, community engagement efforts, business developments, and future opportunities.

The luncheon was more than just a gathering, it was a networking event designed to build partnerships, encourage transparency, and support continued economic growth for Buffalo Lake Métis Settlement.

At the luncheon, we debuted four videos highlighting the meaningful work happening within our community. We are excited to share these videos more broadly so all members and partners can stay informed and connected:
