When you're on the front lines, access to power can mean the difference between life and death. Whether it's recharging vital communications gear, powering lighting and medical equipment or charging drones for recon missions, reliable power is an essential resource and one we are proud to provide.
In early December, we were contacted by the Department of National Defense about sending our made-in-Canada Batt Packs to Ukraine. We immediately wanted to help but it wasn't that simple. Our Batt Packs have always been made-to-order and we didn't have any in stock on hand to send. After a bit of back and forth, they confirmed there was a flight scheduled to send supplies on January 3rd - so they'd take whatever we could produce by then. The only caveat - they needed something more stealth than our branded yellow cases...well game on, we could make that happen.
We spoke to our customers who had orders in the queue to find out if they would be open to waiting a few more weeks so we could squeeze in the Ukraine order into production. We reviewed our inventory and determined that with the help of our trusted network of suppliers, we could make timing work. As for that yellow issue, our incredible partners at Nanuk were able to rush over a shipment of Canadian made, army green cases just in time.
We visited the local Ukrainian federation to let them know what we were up to and asked for their help in writing a special message to include on the cases. They were more than happy to help and our creative team was soon running test prints on stickers.
Fast forward a few weeks and countless long hours put in by our assembly and engineering teams - we did it. On January 3, a shipment of 22 custom built, army green Batt Packs was picked up and loaded onto a plane en route to Ukraine.
Despite the exhaustion, we feel incredibly proud of the work we do and privileged to be able to support the Ukraine initiative. Most of all, we have to extend the BIGGEST thank you to our team, our suppliers and our clients - believe us when we say that without you, this wouldn't have been possible.
