NOW HIRING – CRUISE SECURITY GUARDS

National Port Security Services (NPSS) is hiring Cruise Security Guards to join our team in Saint John, New Brunswick for the upcoming cruise season.

Starting Wage: $19.37/hour

As a Cruise Security Guard, you will play an important role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for cruise passengers, crew members, terminal staff, contractors, and visitors.

What You'll Do:
- Control access to restricted areas
- Verify identification, passes, and credentials
- Monitor entrances, exits, and designated security areas
- Conduct pedestrian and vehicle screening as required
- Monitor cruise terminal and waterfront areas
- Conduct security patrols and inspections
- Monitor CCTV and security systems when assigned
- Respond to alarms, incidents, and security concerns
- Assist with emergency procedures and evacuations
- Maintain professional communication with passengers, crew, staff, and visitors
- Complete daily logs, occurrence reports, and other required documentation
- Maintain a visible security presence throughout the terminal
- Follow all NPSS, terminal, vessel, and site-specific security procedures

National Port Security Services Inc. (NPSS) is currently seeking a professional, reliable and motivated Regional Manager to oversee and support our Ontario operations. This position is ideal for an experienced security professional with strong leadership, operational management, scheduling and client relationship skills.

The Regional Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operational and financial oversight of assigned sites while ensuring quality service delivery, compliance with company standards and strong employee and client relations.
This role may also require performing Security Guard and Supervisory duties depending on operational requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure Security Guards and Supervisors perform duties in accordance with post orders, company policies and client expectations.
- Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with site duties, uniforms, appearance standards and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Counsel and discipline personnel as appropriate while documenting counseling sessions and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies.
- Develop, review, assess and maintain post orders based on client and operational requirements.
- Assist with the training and orientation of security personnel regarding post orders and site procedures.
- Complete payroll input, reconciliation and submission of personnel information as required.
- Ensure adequate staffing coverage for all assigned sites in conjunction with company management.
- Create, maintain and adjust schedules in accordance with operational and business needs.
- Prepare, submit and maintain reports, operational documentation and financial analysis as required.
- Conduct regular site inspections and meetings with employees and supervisors to communicate expectations, tasks and responsibilities.
- Meet with clients regularly to ensure all security requirements are being met and to maintain a high level of customer service.
- Develop action plans and operational improvements based on client and company needs.
- Assist with interviewing, onboarding, training, coaching, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions and hiring recommendations in accordance with company policies and applicable legislation.
- Monitor and enforce employee code of conduct and workplace compliance standards.
- Maintain a positive and professional work environment while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and procedures.

Qualifications:
- Previous security management or supervisory experience preferred
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License required
- Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple sites and operational priorities
- Experience with scheduling, payroll coordination and reporting considered an asset
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends and on-call requirements as needed

Wayne: Wayne joined the company at the beginning of this year’s cruise season. Since then, he has become a crucial team member and a leader for all new hires here at NPSS New Brunswick.
