One of the best reasons to get rid of stumps, is not just because they are ugly, but the are a breeding ground for pests. Carpenter ants are extremely destructive and if allowed to live and breed in a stump around your home, they will eventually take all they need from the stump and move on; a deck or your house make the perfect place to relocate. Don't give them the opportunity.
