Day of Caring 2026 is a few weeks away! We’re proud to partner with Northumberland United Way and our IT provider Attitude It to help make a meaningful difference in our community. One week into our commitment to pick up enough litter to fill the Fidelity Landscape bin. Our accountant spent time over the weekend collecting what she could from the Brighton area. This isn’t just a lunch time mission anymore, we’re dedicating our personal time and encourage others to do the same. Even just one hour of effort will make a big difference, not just to our community, but for the local wildlife and birds!



Here’s how:

Prevents Fatal Ingestion: Animals often mistake plastic trash for food. Picking up litter stops them from ingesting materials that cannot be broken down, which can block their digestive systems and lead to illness or death.

Reduces Entanglement and Injury: Litter such as fishing line, plastic six-pack rings, and discarded bags can trap, choke, or drown birds and animals.

Keeps Habitats Safe: Cleaning up green spaces and shores protects animals from injury and reduces micro-plastics in the ecosystem.
Reduces Deadly Nesting Materials: Birds often use garbage, such as plastic wrappers or synthetic fibers, to build nests, which can cause them to become trapped.

Maintains Natural Behavior: Removing food waste stops wildlife from associating humans with food, keeping them wild and reducing their chances of being hit by cars or becoming aggressive.

In celebration of , the staff here at Lakeport have decided to start picking up garbage during our daily lunch walks.

We're tired of seeing cans and junk on the side of the roads, so we're taking things into our own hands – literally. Or should we say… LITTER RALLY!

We’ve partnered with Fidelity Landscape, who dropped off this massive bin and as our commitment to a greener, cleaner community - not just on Earth Day, but every day - we vow not to stop until it’s full!

We were visited by Georgia from Lakeport Power Ltd. this week, who presented a donation to help fund priority medical equipment at Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH)

Recognizing the significant investment NHH will need to make in the near future, our friends at Lakeport Power Ltd. wanted to make this generous gift to help. The donation was received by Hank Vandermeer on behalf of NHH Foundation.

Lakeport Power is looking for a Warehouse Operator at our Colborne location.
No weekend work! 7:30am-4:30pm, Mon-Fri. Excellent benefits. Room for advancement.
Duties include forklift operation, picking and packing orders, arranging trucks for delivery, receiving, checking, and organizing inventory, maintaining equipment and a safe workspace, and additional tasks as required.
Our ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, be mechanically handy, organized, energetic, and comfortable lifting up to 60lbs in a fast-paced environment.
Forklift operation and prior experience in a warehouse are mandatory. Basic computer skills are required for online booking, answering emails, and using our software. Class G driver's licence is considered an asset as there is potential for local deliveries in a company truck.
