If you've ever asked ChatGPT to rewrite an email and wondered what else it could do, this one's for you!

The Prompt is a new monthly hour at the Foundry where entrepreneurs working with AI share what they're figuring out. Writers, builders, the curious, the skeptical. All are welcome.

Open to everyone. Not just Foundry members.
Second Tuesday of every month. 1-2pm.
First session: May 12th

Monday after Easter.

Your inbox is full. Your to-do list grew while you were away. You have 6 tabs open and you haven’t started anything yet.

Here’s what actually works:

Forget catching up. Pick the ONE thing that would make this week a win. The one thing that actually moves your business forward.

Do that first. Everything else can wait until tomorrow.

Monday doesn’t have to be a catch-up day. It can be a one-thing day.

What’s your one thing this week? Drop it below 👇

What if it DID work out? ✨

That question changed everything for Kelly Wagner and now she helps others ask it too.

Kelly is the founder of Dreamsmith, a coaching practice built for people whose lives look "fine" on paper but feel quietly off. Finance background. Real estate investor. Single mom. Serial reinventor. She's lived the pivots she now guides her clients through.

From a decade in wealth management to managing a landscaping company, to teaching real estate investing on the road across Canada, to downsizing into a 345 sq ft Collingwood condo, Kelly kept following the thread toward a life that actually felt like hers.

Today, she works with people who are successful, stuck, or somewhere in between helping them figure out what they actually want their life to feel like, and then building toward it.

"Everything is changeable. You can always improve. There will always be a new horizon, a new challenge, a new chapter."

A member asked me last week:

“How do you know when your business is ready for a coworking space instead of working from home?”

Honest answer: when working from home starts costing you more than a membership.

Not in dollars.

In momentum. In ideas you’re not having. In accountability you’re not getting. In the slow erosion of treating your business like a real business.

The desk is the excuse. The transformation is why people stay.

Monday morning ritual ☕

Coffee first. Then conquer.

(Or at least, check emails and pretend to be a functioning adult.)

Whatever your Monday looks like, hope it’s starting well.

Two things that came up at Common Ground yesterday morning that are worth your time:

📖 The Art of Gathering by Priya Parker

This book was brought up when we started talking about the Techskis event we were a part of. If you run events, host meetings, or bring people together in any way, this book will change how you think about it. Parker’s argument is that most gatherings fail because we don’t get clear on why we’re actually gathering. Look for it soon in the Foundry library.

🎧 The Last Invention Podcast

Andy Mills (co-creator of The Daily at the NYT) traces the entire arc of the AI revolution from Alan Turing to the race to build AGI. It’s no surprise that AI has been a recent topic of conversation in our group as it rapidly changes how we run our businesses. This podcast goes way deeper than the typical “AI is coming for your job” takes.

Andy actually spoke at Techskis here in Collingwood recently, so this one hits close to home.

This is what happens every week at Common Ground. People share what they’re reading, listening to, and learning from. And everyone walks away with something new.

Once a month, 1,600+ people building something open the same email. Here's what's inside.

A spotlight on a Foundry member doing something awesome with their business. We're talking real people, real stories, real "oh wow, they work here?!" moments.

A roundup of everything happening at the Foundry and from our members - accountability groups, AI meetups, networking nights, workshops, and whatever else this community cooks up. A short article on something we think you'll actually want to read (no clickbait, promise). And a roundup of what's happening that's relevant to business owners.

One email. Once a month. The kind of newsletter you actually look forward to.

Guess who’s back… 👀

Common Ground is returning this week at The Foundry and we couldn’t be more pumped.

If you haven’t been before, here’s the deal. Common Ground is our weekly entrepreneur meetup where local business owners, freelancers, and solopreneurs get together to talk through challenges and share in each other’s wins. No keynote speakers. No slide decks. Just real people having real conversations about what it’s actually like to build something.

It’s popcorn-style, totally casual, and honestly some of the best conversations and connections happen here.

Whether you’re a Foundry member or just curious about the community, you’re welcome to pull up a chair free.
