We are currently aware of a situation on one of our jobsites where our chute man was arrested for throwing concrete at the readymix driver.

Update - Alright after my latest phone call from a lawyer asking me “what happened” “they were ready to fight and represent us for free”, I think it’s safe to say that this is was an April fools joke. No one was arrested, no readymix driver had concrete thrown at them (**this week**) and it was all in good fun.

When contractors follow our preparation guidelines, everything comes together exactly how it should. That is when slipforming becomes smooth, efficient, and predictable, not a struggle. One of the biggest misconceptions we see is assuming that because the machine is large and equipped with a trimmer, it can simply cut through excess material. Slipform machines are designed for precision, not heavy excavation. Trying to trim through 3/4” of gravel or leaving the grade too high creates unnecessary stress on the machine, affects stability, and ultimately shows up in the finished product.

Imagine having to form and hand pour a project like this. For most companies it would take several days to complete, and in some cases even longer depending on the crew size and site conditions. That is exactly how this contractor used to complete their work before working with our services.
