Five months of research at Canada’s leading real estate investment magazine has yielded the second-annual Top 100 Neighbourhoods, a list of micro markets set to lead the country in growth.
Journalists at Canadian Real Estate Wealth Magazine used a host of statistics from Brookfield RPS and industry analysis to form the Top 100 Neighbourhoods to Invest, the most comprehensive list of its kind.
The results – set to hit newsstands on Sept. 30 in the magazine’s November issue – pinpoint the exact locations and property types investors should focus on for both short- and long-term growth.
While markets from coast to coast — including New Sudbury — made The Top 100, number crunching and analysis uncovered several surprises that challenge conventional thinking. Small towns and neighbourhoods — from downtown St. John’s, Nl., and Bedford, Halifax, to Kitimat, B.C., and Cold Lake, Alta. — are among them.
Realtors, mortgage brokers and major investors in all 100 communities were consulted to validate the selections.
“It is a massive undertaking and this year is no exception,” Canadian Real Estate Wealth Editor Nila Sweeney said in a news release. “But with so much change in the market, we felt that it was absolutely imperative we arm CREW readers with up-to-date neighbourhood-specific information.”
