JOB OPPORTUNITIES!
Newfoundland Taxidermy is growing, and we’re looking for two full-time team members to join our shop:
1) Taxidermy Assistant
Duties will include:
• Preparing and altering forms
• Preparing tanned hides for mounting
• Sewing mounts
• Habitat work
• Assisting with general shop tasks
Qualifications should include:
• Strong attention to detail
• Artistic ability
• Basic experience with power tools
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Passion for hunting industry a bonus
A background in fine arts would be considered an asset. The successful candidate may have the opportunity to progress to a Taxidermist role based on artistic ability.
2) Shop Assistant
Duties will include:
• Measuring, crating, and safely packaging mounts for shipping
• Bleaching skulls for European mounts
• Pouring forms
• Assisting with general shop tasks, supply runs etc.
Qualifications:
• Experience with power tools
• Basic carpentry skills
• Class 5 driver’s licence
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Training will be provided for both positions! Wages can be discussed based on experience and skill level. If you’re dependable, enjoy hands-on work, and have an eye for detail, we’d love to hear from you!
