My humans will arrange to have it picked up.

I offered to fetch them myself, but apparently “fetching” 47 bags of groceries is different from fetching a tennis ball. 🤷‍♂️🐾

🐦 APPARENTLY SPEEDY GLASS HAS BECOME AN AIRBNB… EMPHASIS ON THE “AIR.” 😂

When the bay doors are open, we expect vehicles to come and go.

What we DIDN’T expect was a couple of tiny feathered freeloaders to move in. 🐦🏠 Yeah, we get the occasional cat…and of course Chase, our shop dog….but they all go home when we do. These little torments??? They play with us…it’s a “catch me if you can” kinda game.

They fly in, perch above the bays, watch the team work like little supervisors and contribute absolutely NOTHING to the operation.

No rent.
No labour.
No help answering the phones.
Not even a decent Google review. 😂

And one of them had the AUDACITY to p**p on my computer. 💩 I guess it’s time to do something about the open concept loft thing I got goin’ on🥴.

Sir.

You are already living here RENT FREE.

Was the security deposit really necessary?! 🤦‍♀️😂

They spend their days tweeting on the job, conducting random fly-bys like Maverick and Goose, and watching the technicians work like they actually know what’s happening.

We’ve tried explaining that if they’re going to hang around, they need to start pulling their own weight…

So far, they’ve just flipped us the bird. 🐦🤣

At this point, we’re expecting them to request benefits, paid vacation and their own parking spots…although they seem to have a couple of good spots picked out already.

Just another normal day at Speedy Glass. 😂

Come for the glass. Stay for the wildlife.🙄

A HUGE thank you to the Lions Club for once again sinking their teeth into our Speedy Glass Corner Brook Red Bag Days!

They heard our community needed a hand and, as usual, they didn’t just sit around on their lion’s share of kindness — they ROARED into action! 😂🦁

Year after year, the Lions Club continues to support this initiative and help us fill our local food banks.

No monkey business.
No horsing around.
Just a whole PRIDE of wonderful people helping their community. 🦁❤️

Okay… we may have wandered away from the lion theme there. 😂

To the Lions Club — thank you for being the mane attraction in community service and for proving once again that when there’s a need, you can always count on the pride to show up.

You’re pretty ROAR-some. 😏

And we’re not LION🤪!

Well, on August 29th, I celebrated a full half a century. 50 years on this earth - and thankful for every single one!

We had two team members out today. And because of a misunderstanding with the delivery date of the cake, it showed up this morning instead of Tuesday, so what’s a team to do?🤷🏻‍♀️

We had a lovely lunch…an absolutely beautiful and delicious cake, and we made the most of it with just three of us! I already had my gift from them, and even Chase got to enjoy a small bit of cake 🐾!

Red Bag Days has always been a good "investment."😜

Once again, our friends at BMO have decided to make a pretty important deposit....

Not into a traditional bank..
Not into a GIC...
Not even into a high-interest savings account.

This deposit goes to an entirely different kind of bank - the The Food Bank Network of the Bay of Islands Ministerial Association, Inc. - and the deposit goes into our community.

BMO has once again stepped up to support Red Bag Days and we couldn't be more grateful.

We've crunched the numbers, checked the balance, and consulted absolutely NO financial professionals, but we are pretty confident that their kindness account is in good standing - and kindness gives the best return on investment!

Food in our local food bank, support for families who need a little help, and a community coming together to make it happen - now THAT is a portfolio we can get behind.

Unlike most investments, there is no fine print, no contracts to sign, so service fees, and kindness accounts don't require a minimum balance.

Generosity like this definitely accrues interest! It's great to know that we can always "count" on our friends at BMO to help us make a difference...

One food bank deposit at a time....

The greatest thing about kindness accounts is that they can never be overdrawn, no credit check required, no PIN required, and ZERO penalties for making too many withdrawals.

Some investments bring returns more valuable than any dollar ever could. Thanks once again to BMO for continuing to "invest" in our village. ❣

🚨RED BAG DAYS - LAST CALL🚨

Alright, Corner Brook, it's almost time to get these bags moving!

⏰ALL FILLED RED BAGS MUST BE RETURNED TO US BY FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 4 AT 5:00 PM! If your bags are not filled, please return them to us anyway (no judgement here), as we reuse them each year to keep our food banks nice and full for the back to school season.

As per tradition, we are delivering right after Labour Day, and once again this year our incredible friends at .transport are stepping up in a BIG way! 🚚❤

They are generously donating a truck, a driver, AND their time to help us get everything delivered - which means we need to have every bag collected and ready to roll when that truck arrives Tuesday morning!

And trust us...we do NOT want to be the reason a transport truck is sitting around waiting while we yell, "Hang on! There's another bag coming!"🤣

Can't get your bag back to us? NO PROBLEM!

And before anyone checks their calendar...WE KNOW🥴. We would like to blame a technical difficulty, or perhaps Mercury being in retrograde, but NOPE.

Red Bags. We've been a little busy around here and Monday accidentally became Wednesday with absolutely no respect for the calendar (RUDE!).

ANYWAY...back to the important stuff....
