The seminar weekend of a lifetime! ❤️🐾
Two Jesses. Two fields. Twenty-eight incredible teams. Three days packed with learning, laughter, friendships, and so much agility fun.
I feel incredibly grateful to have shared this weekend with Jessica Patterson and Jess Martin—two of Canada's finest competitors, coaches, and human beings. One of the things I love most about agility is that the learning never stops. Just when you think you've figured something out, another challenge appears, and that's what keeps this sport fresh, exciting, and addictive.
There are so many people to thank...
To our sponsors:
Wagworthy Treats (Rugged Greens) – Hunter, thank you for joining us on Friday and Saturday and for spoiling our dogs with your amazing locally made treats. Both handlers and pups absolutely loved everything you brought!
Bone & Biscuit – Thank you for your generous donation of treats for our competitor bags. Our four-legged athletes certainly appreciated the extra goodies!
To my amazing FTLOD! family...
Every event reminds me how lucky I am to be surrounded by people who step up before they're even asked. Whether it was moving equipment, setting up, cleaning up, helping competitors, or simply asking, "What do you need?"—you make these weekends possible. Your support of me, FTLOD!, and one another never goes unnoticed. I appreciate every one of you.
A special thank you to Christine. Last January you came to me with a crazy idea... and you knew I wouldn't say no! 😂 Thank you for your endless hard work, organization, calm under pressure, and ability to solve every problem that came our way. (Seriously... I want you on my team for every escape room challenge from now on!) You even picked up a few new kitchen skills along the way.
To our spouses, Fred and Jeff—thank you for pitching in wherever needed. Jeff became the chef, hydration specialist, and morale booster all in one, always with a smile. Fred was, as always, wherever he was needed without ever being asked.
To our wonderful house guests, Jess and Stephanie—our domestic goddesses—thank you for chopping, slicing, julienning, plating, laughing, and making the kitchen just as much fun as the agility field.
Sunday certainly kept us on our toes when the skies opened up and Mother Nature decided to change our plans! But true agility people adapt. We moved indoors, shifted equipment, reorganized groups, and didn't miss a beat. Thank you to everyone who helped make that transition so seamless. And somehow... we even got Jess Martin to the airport with 15 minutes to spare!
Finally, thank you to my girls. I had an absolute blast running with them this weekend, and little Diva got her very first seminar experience. Auntie Jess Martin taught us all a few things about arousal, drive, commitment, control... and perhaps the most important lesson of all—never forget to have fun.
Weekends like this don't happen because of one person. They happen because an incredible community comes together with a shared love of dogs, learning, and supporting each other.
Thank you all for making the very first 2 Tides Agility Retreat unforgettable.
And the best part?
We're already planning the next one! 🎉
2 Tides Agility Retreat – Take 2 is coming... and BOTH Jesses will be back. Stay tuned—you won't want to miss it!
