What a weekend! I had such a great time here at For the Love of Dog! during our annual May long weekend AAC agility trial. Judge Christine Mandy definitely did not disappoint with super fast, fun classes.
In total, there were over 100 Qs handed out and 25 title ribbons — WOWZA!
Judge Christine was also a lovely house guest! She took part in a lobster supper and even tried mussels for the first time. Fred was busy in the kitchen as usual, creating menus even Gordon Ramsay would raise his eyebrows at 😉
My students were amazing. You all make me so proud, and I’m truly overwhelmed by your confidence and enthusiasm. The best part about being a coach is watching students have fun while reaching their individual goals
A massive thank you to our scorekeeper, Sherry Flynn. She kept her cool, stayed incredibly organized, and somehow even ran two dogs in between. Is there anything this woman can’t do?
Thank you as well to Joanne Gallein for coming out to volunteer, even while Jack was riding the pine. I truly appreciated it.
There were so many helpers and people pitching in all weekend long. I won’t name everyone for fear of forgetting someone, but please know how grateful I am for every single one of you.
A huge thank you as well to Hunter with Wagworthy Treats (Rugged Greens). What a hit those amazing dehydrated treats were! Beef liver, island cheese, wild blueberries, quail eggs, mussels, scallops, capelin, yam and so much more. Competitors — and their dogs — absolutely loved trying your products. All ingredients are island sourced and processed right here on PEI. We’re so excited to continue working with Wagworthy Treats and Rugged Greens at future events.
Scorch, Clever and Siren all ran this weekend. Siren was her goofy self and had an absolute blast. Clever rounded out her MSDC title, earned an Advanced Standard Q (those are HARD), and added a few more clean runs to the books.
And then there was Scorch, my heart. My 12-year-old boy ran his retirement runs this weekend. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t shed a tear or two out there. I even took a jump for him 😉 Thank you for all the best runs, Scorchie. I love you so much.
Thank you to all the competitors for coming and being part of the unique FTLOD! experience. We can’t wait to see you all again at Halloween!
