Introducing Mark Brajer, KEDC’s CEO
Mark Brajer started in January 2026 as the Chief Executive Officer of the K’ómoks Economic Development Corporation. KEDC works to support the long‑term prosperity and self‑determination of K’ómoks people by developing community‑driven businesses, building strong partnerships, and creating opportunities that honour the Nation’s culture, values, and deep connection to the land and waters of the traditional territory.
Mark brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in Indigenous economic development, business transformation, and large-scale operations. He has worked closely with Indigenous governments and communities across Canada, including serving as CEO of the Tsartlip Group of Companies located in Brentwood Bay, BC, and the Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation located in Yellowknife, NT. His work has focused on strengthening local economies, building strong governance systems, and creating opportunities that support community well being.
As CEO, Mark is focused on building trust, visibility, and strong relationships across the K’ómoks community. He works closely with Chief & Council, the KEDC Board, community members, and partners to ensure that economic development reflects K’ómoks values and supports opportunities for current and future generations. His priorities include seeking strategic partnerships, exploring and advancing treaty-related land development opportunities, bolstering current KEDC businesses, diversifying KEDC’s business portfolio, and supporting capacity-building and employment for K’ómoks members. He is honoured to serve the K’ómoks First Nation and is committed to helping build a strong, sustainable economic future for the community.
