Email campaigns converting at 20% or more? 👀
If you're using Klaviyo, today I want to teach you how to do something very cool that'll help skyrocket your email conversion rates.
So, what most people do when they've got a new product coming out is send out a broadcast email the day it comes out.
That's fine.
You'll make some sales.
But this overlooks an important fact:
The time leading up to the release is actually far MORE valuable than the release day itself.
So, how do you make the most of this time?
Create a waitlist, and once you've got the waitlist, HYPE THEM UP.
Here's the simplest way to do it in Klaviyo.
You're going to make a campaign.
Then, make sure the button is not embedded in an image.
Make sure it's a real Klaviyo element button!
Then, where you'd normally include a link to your website, you're going to include this character string instead:
{% update_property_link 'profile_property' 'property_value' 'redirect_link' %}
This is going to enable you to create a segment based on the information you include in the property sections.
For example, let's say you're planning on releasing a new, fly pair of shoes, of which there'll only be 100 available.
In the 'profile_property' section of the character string, you'll put 'NEW FLY SHOES'.
In the 'property_value' section, you'll put 'INTERESTED'.
In the 'redirect_link' section, you'll include a link to a little confirmation page you put together to let folks know they're submission has been cataloged.
The updated string will look like this:
{% update_property_link 'NEW FLY SHOES' 'INTERESTED' 'yourdomain/page' %}
Now, when you send out this email to generate interest in your new product, everyone who hits the button will acquire these profile properties, which you'll use to build your 'Waitlist Segment'.
Once you've got this sorted out, you can send out as many emails as you like (either through flows or campaigns) to intensify your subscribers' interest in the new release.
And once the product comes out, you'll be able to say things like:
'Wow, over 1000 of you joined the waitlist, but there's only 100 available. You better act fast...'
In my experience, this approach converts at 20% or more.
You're welcome.
Best,
James
