What a weekend at Comox Nautical Days.

This photo is from Saturday morning, Bob Bowen showing Nate and Stefan the ECO Team setup as day one got underway. It sums up what this weekend has been about for us: local people, working together, giving back to the community we all love.

A heartfelt thank you to Bob and every ECO Team volunteer. All weekend they have been at the sorting stations, keeping waste out of the landfill and showing what is possible when a community decides to do better. We are proud to have sponsored their work.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Aurum Solar Lounge to say hello, take a break, and share a cold drink with us. Meeting so many of you is exactly why we do this.

You will find the Aurum Solar Lounge at Comox Marina Park. Take a seat in the shade, grab a cold drink on us, and rest your feet for a while. The space is here for the whole community to enjoy all weekend.

This weekend, Aurum Solar Ltd. is proud to sponsor the 2026 Nautical Days ECO Team, and there is a person at the heart of why.

Meet Bob Bowen. Bob is part of the Aurum Solar family, one of our valued clients here in the Comox Valley. Earlier this year, Bob came to us with something bigger than solar on his mind. He is the driving force behind the Nautical Days ECO Team, and he asked if we would step up to support it. The moment he explained what the team was doing, we knew it was a perfect fit.

Here's what Bob and his volunteers have built. Events like Nautical Days bring thousands of people together, and they generate a lot of waste, much of which has gone straight to the landfill in the past. The ECO Team is changing that, with waste sorting stations across the festival and clear, intuitive signage so attendees can sort their own waste into liquids, compostable food waste, cans and paper, recyclable plastics, and garbage. Around six stations, staffed by volunteers all weekend, working toward one goal: cutting the waste headed to the landfill by 50 percent.

That is real, on the ground impact, led by a neighbour who cares. Supporting local people doing real good is exactly what we believe in as the Comox Valley's locally owned solar specialists.
