🚧 A heartbreaking reminder.

Yesterday, a 53-year-old construction worker lost his life after being struck by a transport truck while working on Highway 2 in Burton, New Brunswick.

He wasn't just a worker in a safety vest.

He was someone's family member, friend, co-worker, and loved one.

Every day, road construction crews, traffic control personnel, sign installers, and maintenance workers step into active work zones to help keep our roads safe. They work just a few feet away from moving traffic, often in challenging conditions, trusting that drivers will slow down, stay alert, and respect the work zone.

Behind every cone, barrel, sign, and flashing light is a person doing their job.

We extend our deepest condolences to the worker's family, friends, co-workers, and everyone affected by this tragic loss.

Please remember:

⚠️ Slow down in work zones.
⚠️ Put distractions away.
⚠️ Follow posted signs and directions.
⚠️ Give workers the space they need to do their jobs safely.

Because everyone deserves to make it home at the end of the day.

🚑Can emergency crews find your home at night?🏠

Emergencies don't happen in perfect lighting and not everyone puts their house number (civic number) in the same place. This can make it difficult for emergency crews to find your home quickly.

🚧Most people think their numbers house number is visible ... until they actually check! Long driveways, trees, vehicles, etc can block your house number from the road. 🚧 Quick test: stand at the road at night. Can you see your number?

👉That's why we recommend a fully reflective Civic Marker (house number sign).

We have 💲special pricing💲 set up so that you can get a fully reflective Civic Marker for your residence at an economical cost. We offer single sided and double sided signs for your convenience.

And we haven't forgotten about businesses - we also make commercial civic marker signs for your businesses too! 💼

📧Contact our sales team today - we can even ship your sign to you!

Higher visibility signage is becoming the standard across Atlantic Canada.

Not all reflective sheeting performs the same.

• High Intensity Prismatic reflects about 32% of available light
• 3M Diamond Grade DG³ reflects roughly 58%

That difference becomes noticeable in conditions we see every day in Atlantic Canada - rain, fog, snow, and long winter nights.

Greater reflectivity gives drivers more time to see, process, and react to critical road information.

Because of this increased visibility, the NB and NS Departments of Transportation already require Diamond Grade reflectivity for certain traffic signs.

If you're planning sign replacements or new installations, our team can help you determine when Diamond Grade is the right choice for safety and long-term performance.

📩 Contact our sales team for pricing on Diamond Grade regulatory traffic signs.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

🚗 Reaction time matters. Especially in busy parking lots.

In shopping centres, schools, medical buildings, and commercial plazas, small speed reductions make a big difference.

Research shows speed bumps can reduce driver speeds by up to 24%, resulting in a 43% reduction in pedestrian injuries.

That’s not a minor improvement. That’s meaningful impact.

At Sojourn Signs, we supply high-visibility, durable parking lot safety products designed for long-term performance. From rubber speed humps and parking curbs to flexible delineators and traffic calming solutions, we help property owners create safer environments for drivers and pedestrians.

A simple fix. Real impact.

Everything You Need to Know About RRFBs in 2026
Crosswalk safety continues to evolve — and the standards that guide it matter.

Carmanah is hosting a free, two-part RRFB webinar on March 3 and 5 covering:
• What the latest MUTCD standards say about RRFBs
• Best practices for placement and application
• Why streetlighting alone isn’t enough at most pedestrian crossings
• Performance insights from current crosswalk research

Each session qualifies for a 1-hour professional development certificate.

If your municipality or project team is reviewing pedestrian safety upgrades this year, this session is worth attending.

Today, as many across Canada observe Family Day and Heritage Day, we’re reminded of what matters most.

While many are gathering with loved ones, families in Tumbler Ridge are carrying unimaginable loss.

We are taking a moment to recognize them. To honour them. And to hold space for the community that is hurting.

From all of us at Sojourn Signs, our thoughts and prayers are with you. ❤️🙏🏼🫂

Civic markers may be small, but they play a critical role in safety.

Emergency responders rely on clear, visible address signage to confirm locations quickly, especially at night or in poor weather.

In regions with long winters and reduced visibility, reflectivity and proper placement make a measurable difference.

A well-designed civic marker isn’t a luxury. It’s a basic safety tool.

At Sojourn Signs, we see civic markers as essential for your home and business! We offer single-sided and double-sided signs for your convenience
