Selling this Saturday at VJV Dawson Creek

“Bowser”

Big solid 3 year old red roan gelding, has been rode this summer working cows, going through the bush, has had pack boxes on him. He is a solid mount, has never offered to buck, bolt or rear. He works off leg pressure and has picked up the neck rein. He is a confident, sure footed gelding that would excel in a mountain string, roping bulls or a pasture horse working cattle. He has never offered to be spooky or dumb when being rode out, can ride alone or with other horses. 15’1-15’2 hh

Halter broke, good with kids, pets horses

The buckskin is 4 years old halter broke, teather broke done some desensitize training, good with fences all size horses and kids. She is usually lead mare. Loves girls, not men. Ready to start under saddle.

“THUMPER"

This grade gelding is a 2014 model ...and as calm as they come.
He is 15.2 hh with an amazing demeanor.
Quite a gentleman if I may say.
For the last few years he has been signing in for a variety of jobs. Such as a pen checker..(strings them out pretty nicely)..sorter...even as low as watching gates. Just one of them horses that you can leave in the pastures for months then slap a saddle on any day you please and get the same riding horse.
Primarily though his main job has been gettin those calves into the barn in the freezing winter months ....with some hot blooded mommas behind him!
If theres something you have to do and need a steed that you can trust to not get shaken,stirred or spooked .."Thumper" has been the go to!
This gelding has seen it all from long rides trailing in the forests to stepin thro pens with a bunch newly born calves with "friendly" dams.
I must say that the reason we've decided to part with him is he's a tad on the slow side for the preference of a few ranchhands.That is just our opinion. Even though you are saddled and on the job before your partners have caught their companions!
In any case still an amazing choice!

Consigned to the Horse Sale September 12th at VJV Dawson Creek

“Reno”

9yr old gelding.
Hes a great overall ranch horse, has done alot of roping,cattle trailing n feedlot work,
Kids use him lots for riding, great for that!
No buck no bolt on this guy.
Hes had the summer off because of signs of arthritis, but doesnt seem to bother him, he still moves around well. Hes got another 10 years under his belt

7-year-old mare
She was raised on the ranch and has done it all, from feedlot pen checking to general ranch work. She is well-broke and great for trail riding, moving cows, sorting, and roping. She is also well-mannered, easy to catch, great with kids, and stands well for the farrier.

She tends to favor her right knee if worked too hard, so she would be best suited mainly for recreational riding.

He is a well-broke horse with more "whoa" than "go." He has experience with all types of ranch work, including pen checking, trailing cattle, and pasture roping. He is kid-safe with no buck or bolt.

While he has been turned out on pasture for the last two months, he will be ready to ride

“Dunny”

16-year-old Gelding.

Don’t let his age fool you. This guy is ready for whatever you throw at him. He’s been there and done that. Whether it’s barrels, Ranch work, Brandings or being a trail mount. Dunny would make a rodeo mount or Gritty ranch pony any day of the week.

This guy is ready to make a young intermediate rider their next mount in the rodeo world or teach someone the ropes of ranching.

Dunny has no fear and will happily go in any direction you point him in. Mean bull? Not a problem for Dunny. He’s gritty and has no problem using his size to his advantage. Sick calf that needs a ride?? He’ll pack em.

This guy will take care of you in every situation. He’s great at tolerating littles and being a jungle gym while we wait for the next bunch. I cannot say enough good things about this guy! Due to life changes he’s been sitting, this guy needs to work, and it is not fair to him.
