Here’s a question I often ask paramedic leaders:

“What projects do you have that you just don’t have time to deal with?”

QA work that keeps getting deferred.
Investigations that need attention.
Policies or SOPs that are overdue for review.
Leadership or staff issues that would benefit from an external perspective.

At PulsePoint Consulting, we help paramedic services and community health programs take on those exact projects—the ones that matter, but never quite make it to the top of the list.

If that question hits close to home, feel free to reach out. Sometimes a short conversation is all it takes to get momentum back.

🌺 Remembrance Day 2025

Today, we pause to honour the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication of all those who have served our country.

To every veteran — thank you for your service, your strength, and your commitment to protecting the freedoms we hold dear.

At PulsePoint, we also want to recognize the many veterans who continue to serve their communities today as paramedics, firefighters, police officers, and other first responders. Your dedication didn’t end when you hung up your uniform — it lives on every time you answer the call to help others.

We remember. We honour. We are grateful.

Lest We Forget.

Update Regarding John Strupat and JST Technologies

Many in the paramedic community know John Strupat, founder of JST Technologies, whose expertise in oxygen system testing and equipment safety has supported paramedic services across Canada for decades.

John has recently experienced a serious and unexpected decline in his health and is now focusing on his well-being with his family.

As news of John’s condition has begun to spread, we understand that some services have been concerned about ongoing support and are exploring other options. To help reassure everyone, PulsePoint Advisory is working with John and his family to explore a structured knowledge transfer that would allow his work and legacy to continue, ensuring ongoing stability for the sector he has served so faithfully.

Our shared goal is to honour John’s legacy and preserve the high standard of service that he has built throughout his career.

Please keep John and his family in your thoughts during this time. His contributions to paramedicine and equipment safety have made a lasting impact on our profession.

Would your Medical Directives and governance model hold up under a Ministry or CPSO review?
Too often, policies evolve faster than documentation — leaving risk exposure for both physicians and services.

PulsePoint helps leaders:
🧭 Review Medical Directives for delegation accuracy
📄 Build clear compliance and audit matrices
⚖️ Apply Just Culture principles to investigations and QA

Strong governance doesn’t slow innovation — it sustains it.

Does your Community Paramedicine program meet the CPSO’s Delegation of Controlled Acts policy?
Many services are surprised to find gaps between practice and legislation — especially around physician delegation, oversight, and documentation standards.

At PulsePoint Advisory Inc, we help Paramedic Services bridge those gaps by aligning policies, directives, and workflows with:
✅ CPSO Delegation of Controlled Acts Policy (2022)
✅ CSA Z1630-17 Community Paramedicine Framework
✅ MOH BLS/ALS v5.2

🩺 Compliance protects your team. Consistency protects your patients.

Let’s make sure your delegation model can stand up to audit, review, or regulatory change.

🚑💙 Big news for Ontario seniors and caregivers!

The Ontario government is making the Community Paramedicine for Long-Term Care program permanent and investing $89 million a year to expand it — including more services in First Nations communities.

What does this mean?
✔ 24/7 at-home, non-emergency care from trained community paramedics
✔ Fewer unnecessary hospital trips
✔ More support for caregivers
✔ Helping seniors stay safe, healthy, and independent in their own homes

Since it began in 2020, CPLTC has already helped 81,000+ people and delivered 310,000+ hours of care across Ontario. Now it’s growing to reach more communities, including Pikangikum First Nation and Weenusk First Nation.

🏡 Because aging at home — surrounded by family, culture, and community — should be possible for everyone.

🧡 Treaty Day – Naotkamegwanning First Nation 🧡

PulsePoint Advisory Inc. is honoured to recognize Treaty Day alongside the community of Naotkamegwanning First Nation.

Treaty Day is a time of gathering, reflection, and cultural pride—marking the commitments made under Treaty No. 3, signed in 1873. It is also a time to acknowledge truth. While the spirit and intent of the treaties reflect respect and Nation-to-Nation partnership, the history of how these agreements have been upheld by Canada is complex and painful.

Many Indigenous Peoples continue to celebrate Treaty Day as an act of strength, a way to teach younger generations, and a call to uphold what was promised—land, relationships, and shared stewardship.

We at PulsePoint are grateful to walk alongside communities like Naotkamegwanning and are committed to listening, learning, and standing with those working to reclaim the original intent of Treaty.

🦅 Treaties are not just history—they are living, present, and powerful.
