Landowners don't have to beg the Land and Property Rights Tribunal to terminate the right of an oil and gas operator to enter your land if they are delinquent in payment. That's what this press conference was all about.

Landowner Mark Dorin is fed up - despite following all the proper channels, MAGA Energy Inc. still hasn't paid their rents for oil wellsites on his land in over 3 years. Yesterday he tore up his lease, blocked access to the wells, and is encouraging other landowners to do the same. First meeting of the Warburg Pembina Surface Rights Group for the 2026 season is on March 10 at 7PM (no meeting in April).
With so many oil companies failing to keep their contractual and legal obligations to landowners, its time to discuss what legal options landowners have, and whether government agencies support law abiding landowners or law-breaking oil and gas companies.

More and more news on the work of Coalition for Responsible Energy (C4RE) that Polluter Pay Federation is a co-founder of, that a supermajority of Albertans support polluter pay, push back from more and more landowner groups, and of course...........the Alberta Energy Regulator "has black marks all over it".
