On the way back from a trip to Beijing and Qingdao in China to visit customers, parts of the supply chain and attend the China Fisheries and Seafood Expo 2025.

Exciting times for our 加拿大红鱼 (Canadian redfish)!

Very fortunate to visit retailers that are actively promoting and selling Scotia Harvest redfish, being able to speak to the consumers, and ordered Scotia Harvest redfish online from an e-commerce app that was delivered to the hotel in 10 minutes from when the order was placed. 🤯

The Expo was huge, with 14 massive rooms full of booths representing companies from all over the world and great representation from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Brand and Nova Scotia Seafood. Including our Mersey Group partners Mersey Seafoods and Fisherman's Market. Also nice to see Nova Scotia Fisheries Minister Kent Smith for the Eastern Shore promoting and representing our province.

While the focus was meetings and experiencing the show, here are a few pictures from the trip.

Torrential rain wasn't enough to shake the Scotia Harvest spirit this afternoon as we participated in the Digby Scallop Days parade. The theme was "Under The Sea" and the rain certainly made us all feel that way.

We were honoured to receive the "Best Themed Float" award from the committee but have to note there were many other impressive floats that participated.

Many boxes of freezies were shared with many on the parade route by our talented employees who put the float together over multiple evenings these past few weeks.

Our office has smelled great all week as management staff worked to prepare and cook 9 turkeys, 45 lbs of potatoes, 24 lbs of carrots, 24 lbs of peas, 25 boxes of stove top and everything else that goes into a good holiday meal for our production staff.

We witnessed the lunch room being quieter than it's ever been as people enjoyed big plates of homemade food and we understand and expect that production might be a little slower this afternoon. This is a token of our appreciation, but hopefully you all know how much we appreciate you and the hard work you put in to help make us successful.

A special thanks to all staff involved in the planning, coordination and cooking of the meal.
