April 11, 2026 | 11:00 a.m. - Update: Police asking for public’s assistance in locating suspect
As a result of the ongoing investigation into an overnight stabbing, detectives from the Barrie Police Service Criminal Investigations Unit are seeking the assistance of the public in locating 28-year-old Adam Myshak of Barrie who is wanted in relation to this incident.
Myshak is facing charges of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon, and aggravated assault.
If you see Myshak, or have information on his whereabouts, do not approach, contact police.

April 11, 2026 | 8:00 a.m. - Police identify suspect after early morning incident
Just after midnight on Saturday, April 11, Barrie Police were contacted regarding a report of a male who had been stabbed in the area of Anne Street North and Donald Street.
When police arrived, a 43-year-old Barrie man was located in life-threatening condition. He was transported to a local hospital, and then air-lifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, detectives from the Barrie Police Service Criminal Investigations Unit have identified a 28-year-old Barrie man as a suspect in this occurrence, and charges are pending.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have dash cam or other video footage in the area is asked to contact police.
The investigation included resources from the Canine Unit, front-line uniform response, the Forensic Identification Unit. Roads were closed briefly for the investigation, and reopened around 4:30 a.m.
