Calliou Group, in collaboration with the Friends of Michel Society, had the privilege of putting together and installing HEAR OUR VOICES. Open now until October 12th 2024. Come listen and learn about the stories of Michel Residential School Survivors

The Friends of Michel Society, in collaboration with the Musée Héritage Museum in St. Albert, present a new exhibit: HEAR OUR VOICES: MICHEL PEOPLE & RESIDENTIAL SCHOOLS. Now thru OCTOBER 12 2024 at MUSÉE HÉRITAGE MUSEUM

Michel People share their stories, both as direct and intergenerational Survivors of Residential Schools.
For some people of the former Michel Band #472, this is the first opportunity to share their experiences outside of their immediate families. Documenting the truth about Residential Schools is both timely and necessary for Indigenous and non-Indigenous people alike.

Today we remember the children who were taken from their families.
We grieve for the children who never came home and the families who were torn apart.
We call out the racist and colonial systems that continue to cause harm to Indigenous peoples.

Do not let a social media post today be the extent of your participation in reconciliation;
Educate yourself, actively stand against racism, amplify Indigenous voices, demand change.
