If you ask me why I believe an online/digital business can be a great way to create an additional stream of income, especially for busy moms, I could give you a long list.
But after being on this journey for years, I’ve realized it’s not just about the possibility of making money.
It’s about what this kind of business can make possible.
For me, these are some of the biggest reasons:
✨ FLEXIBILITY
I can build it around my life and my family—not completely rearrange my life around a business.
✨ A SYSTEM AND TRAINING
I didn’t have a business degree or know how to build an online business when I started. I had to learn. Having access to training, mentorship, tools, and a community made a huge difference.
✨ SKILLS THAT STAY WITH YOU
Marketing, communication, content creation, personal development, leadership, and learning how to show up online—these are skills I continue to grow in.
✨ A GLOBAL OPPORTUNITY🌎
One of the things I love most about working online is that your world becomes so much bigger. You can connect, learn, collaborate, and build relationships with people you may have never met otherwise.
And honestly, the relationships have become one of my favourite parts of this journey. ❤️
I’ve met people from different countries, different backgrounds, and different walks of life—all because we decided to step outside of what was familiar and learn something new.
But I also want to be real about this.
An online business is not a get-rich-quick scheme.
There are no guaranteed results.
It takes consistency.
It takes patience.
It takes learning.
It takes taking action.
But here’s what I think is worth considering if you’re already working and raising a family:
What if building something of your own didn’t require you to walk away from the life you already have?
Maybe it’s learning for 30 minutes after the kids are in bed.
Maybe it’s creating content during your lunch break.
Maybe it’s working on your business on a quiet Saturday morning while your family is still asleep.
Maybe, instead of asking, “How would I possibly fit another thing into my life?” you start asking, “Could I build something small and consistently, in the pockets of time I already have?”
That’s what makes this model so interesting to me.
It’s not about adding another full-time job to your already-full life.
It’s about creating something that can grow alongside your life.
And for a working mom who wants to create another income stream while still being present for the people who matter most, that possibility is worth exploring. ❤️
