Is saying “yes” to everyone else sometimes saying “no” to yourself?

This is something I’ve been reflecting on lately. As someone who naturally loves connecting people, supporting others, and opening doors, I often find myself saying yes.

Yes to helping, yes to showing up, yes to making things happen for others.

But recently I’ve been asking myself an honest question:

Is that always authentic?

When we’re people-pleasers, it can be easy to say yes out of habit rather than intention. And sometimes that means our time, energy, and focus get stretched thinner than we realize.I still believe deeply in helping others and creating opportunities for people to succeed. That’s part of who I am.
But I’m also learning that healthy boundaries are part of authenticity too.

Not every opportunity is aligned.
Not every ask is the best use of your energy.
And sometimes the most honest answer is simply… not right now.

Growth sometimes means learning when to give, and when to protect your energy so you can give your best where it truly matters.
