🚨 I TEASED YOU YESTERDAY WITH BIG NEWS WELL HERE IT IS!!

THIS ONE MEANS A LOT. 🚨

I’m incredibly excited and proud to announce that Disability Accessible by Design will be working with NAIT on the new Advanced Skills Centre! ♿️🙌

There are business wins… and then there are moments that make you stop and think about how far you’ve come.

This is one of those moments for me.

Entrepreneurship has tested me in every possible way. There have been exciting days, frustrating days, doors that didn’t open, emails that went unanswered, and plenty of moments where it would have been easier to stop pushing.

But I kept believing in something:

People with lived experience deserve a seat at the table when the spaces of our future are being designed.

Not after they’re built.

Not when something goes wrong.

From the very beginning.

That’s why working with NAIT to bring our accessibility, inclusive design, and lived-experience perspective to NAIT’s new Advanced Skills Centre means so much to me.

This is bigger than another project for ABD.

It’s another sign that the conversation is changing. Organizations are recognizing that accessibility isn’t simply about checking a box — it’s about creating better spaces and better experiences for EVERYONE.

I’m incredibly grateful to NAIT for seeing the value in what we bring to the table and trusting us to be part of this journey.

For a small business built around a big mission, this feels pretty damn special.

We’ve worked hard for opportunities like this.

We earned our seat at the table.

Now it’s time to get to work and help build a more accessible future. ♿️🔥

And trust me… we’re just getting started.

Last night was one of those nights I’ll remember for a long time. ❤️

I had the opportunity to take the stage at the Unachievable Event in Leduc and share something much bigger than a business presentation or an accessibility conversation…

I got to share my story.

The surgeries. The challenges. The moments where the future was uncertain. Growing up with a disability. The setbacks, the wins, building a business, chasing some crazy dreams, and ultimately turning lived experience into purpose.

Standing up there tonight reminded me just how far this journey has taken me — and how much further I still want to go.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out tonight, listened, laughed, connected with me, and allowed me to be vulnerable enough to tell my story.

And thank you to the entire Unachievable team for giving me the opportunity and the platform to share it.

If even one person walked away tonight believing a little more in themselves or thinking differently about what they believe is possible, then getting on that stage was worth it.

One thing I hope people remember from tonight:

Never allow someone else’s perception of your limitations to become your reality.

There were plenty of things in my life that once seemed unachievable.

Turns out… we’re just getting started. 🔥

Thank you, Leduc. ❤️

One of the projects I’m most proud of was working on Heavy Metal Place in Spruce Grove.

Not just because of the project itself…
but because it connected my hometown with my passion for sports and accessibility.

That experience reminded me why I started this journey.

I don’t just want accessible spaces.
I want people with disabilities to feel included in every part of the experience:
• attending games
• working in arenas
• traveling confidently
• participating in community spaces

Now, getting the opportunity to work with Air Canada has expanded that vision even further.

This isn’t just business for me.
It’s a lifestyle.
It’s a mission.

And we’re only getting started!

Everytime I return to the Glenrose Hospital Foundation I can’t help but smile ear to ear and remember how much this building shaped me into part of who I am today!

Specifically this year as the foundation is raising funds & awareness to reopen the rehabilitation pool! Now to some this may seem like it’s just a pool but to me & countless other people it’s more than that! It was a light during some dark & difficult days recovering from surgery! It meant a sense of peace calming and freedom!

A place where you could block out all the white noise and just enjoy being one with the water! It was the place where for the first time in 6 weeks after surgery i could move my legs, where for a brief time I forgot I was in the hospital this pool is a sense of normalcy for many people over the years including myself!

April 18 we will host the foundation’s gala to help revive “home” but this is where we need your help and support! We are looking for sponsors to host tables or purchase tickets & enjoy a great night of entertainment stories and raising money for a local national treasure!!

Please DM me for more information! We will see you all for incredible night!

Today is International Day of Persons with Disabilities! It’s a day all around the world where we celebrate people with disabilities & rightfully so it’s well deserved and I will continue to celebrate every year!

Here’s my personal struggle why do we need a day to celebrate? Why can’t we celebrate everyday? My problem is that most of the time when the day is over it stops & we move on to something else shiny new things the next day!

This day isn’t just about today or our community continuing to just exist it’d about using today as a tool for a bigger and better conversation! People with disabilities are the largest minority in the world! It’s about meaningful access for all! I dont just mean buildings either! I & we deserve the same rights as everyone else!

It’s time we start teaching kids in schools!

It’s time we start going above and beyond building code

It’s time we start inclusive hiring

It’s time we start holding the powers that be accountable!

Did you know Alberta is the only province now without a disability legislation! That needs to change!

So yes let’s celebrate but let’s also remember that we have a lot of work to do as a community a society and most importantly a world! The crazy thing is we are all going to be disabled in some way in our lifetime let’s be proactive and let’s have a better future for all! It’s not just about me it’s about we!!
